Hey and hello and happy December!! YAY, it’s FINALLY the last month of the longest, strangest and somewhat challenging year EVER! My share for you today is for Scrap The Boys and is the “December Traditions” challenge!
And here is the page that I created.
I have recently received the gorgeous Merry & Bright collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio and couldn’t wait to do some scrapping with it so chose to pull it out for this fun page! And paired that with a fun CUT to YOU cut file!
As always, here is a process video for and I hope that you enjoy!
I can’t wait to see what you create for our Christmas Traditions challenge in our FB group or on the blog!

Hey and hello my scrappy friends!! I hope you are all well and if you are in the Southern Hemisphere enjoying the warming weather; and if you’re not, staying warm and cozy!
My share today is of a scrapbooking kit I have put together using the gorgeous Cocoa Vanilla Studio Daydream collection! If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s a peek….
I have created 6 layouts with this stunning collection and have put together detailed step-by-step instructions for each layout.
You can see a walk through of the pages plus the kit contents over on my YT channel, but I’ll also link the video directly below!
And here is a look at all 6 pages
Maybe you are looking for a little something for yourself for Christmas or perhaps a gift for someone special. Or maybe you’d like something to keep yourself occupied with the Christmas break coming up!
I had so much fun creating with these goodies and I hope that you do too! I have a few left and they are $125AUD. That includes everything in the kit plus the step-by-step instructions as a digital file. If you would like it printed I can get that organised also for $10AUD.

Hey everyone, I’m really excited to be sharing my latest creation for CUT to YOU! I have this super fun Christmas page to share featuring a 2019 photo.
This page features the very awesome “Star Light, Star Bright” cut file which has been embossed with gold glitter embossing powder. And I just love how it turned out!
I said it recently in another post, but in case you didn’t know, stars are totally my jam. My fave!! As I flipped through my photos and came across this one I knew straight away that I just HAD to cut it and that it simply HAD to be gold!
By happy accident my boy is wearing a teal-ish coloured shirt which, for me, is part of a perfect Christmas colour combo – red/teal/white/gold and in this case, silver too ;), so I totally embraced that and created a messy mixed media background with lots of different Lindy’s products.
Oh, and with teal in my colour scheme I simply had to include these gorgeous X and O Charms Creations!!!
I, of course, have a process video for which is below! Grab a cuppa, sit back and I do hope you enjoy!
I’ll leave with you a few close up shots!!
I hope that you have enjoyed my share today and that maybe I have inspired you to use a more non-traditional colour scheme for some Christmas pages 😉 Make sure to head over here to the shop if you are looking for all of the stunning Christmas designs and make sure you have signed up here to the newsletter. It may be very worth your while to keep up to date with the CUT to YOU happenings 😉
Hello, hello scrappy friends and family!! I’m really excited to be here with you to share this somewhat (ok, ok, VERY!!) busy page that I created using 2 cut files and a quick and easy mixed media technique on my background for CUT to YOU.
And here is the first file I used – “Happy Birthday Title“. This was cut in white textured cardstock and backed with the 6×8 Paper Stack from Cocoa Vanilla Studio’s Legendary collection.
And the second one I used is “Rock Star“. Now, if you follow me you probably know that I love stars so when I saw this cut file when it was released I was so bummed when I didn’t come up with an idea straight away! But, it’s on a page now and I love it! This was cut on a pattern paper – Cocoa Vanilla Studio – Legendary – “Brave Heart”.
I’m also playing along with this fun CSI Challenge which is all about using older products!! I’ve pulled some acrylic paint from my stash as my “older stash” and then pulled on the fun, bright colours and also included lots of layers on my back ground and distressing.
I, of course, have a process video for you which is linked below. It is a bit longer than my “normal” videos however I wanted to include as much as I could. Make sure you grab a cuppa before you sit down and enjoy!
I seriously had so much fun creating this page! It’s messy, bright, layered and features my boy on his 10th birthday with a few loving words from Mum to Son. I’ll leave with you a few close ups and make sure you head on over to CSI: Color Stories, Inspiration to join in one, some or maybe even ALL of the challenges that are current! Remember, CTY is a major sponsor!
I hope that you have enjoyed my share today and that it has inspired you to maybe play along with one of these challenges for some great prizes! Or perhaps, to try a new (maybe messy?!?) technique?!? I’d love to hear!
Oh, one last thing before I leave, have you seen the gorgeous new Christmas cut files in the store?!?? SO many beautiful designs! I can’t wait to share my next page with you, wink wink 😉 Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!
Hello, hello my scrappy friends and a big welcome to my blog today, the 1st of November! Can you even believe it?!?
And this month we have a fun sketch challenge for you all! I don’t know about you but I just love a sketch, especially when my mojo is taking a holiday!
As soon as I saw this sketch I was drawn to my stash of Elle’s Studio goodies!! Those labels, circles and stars down the right just screamed “Elle’s Studio” at me!
I’ve used lots of different products but started with the May and June 2020 kits, specifically the “Summer Fun” Paper Stack for that blue block of pattern on the right hand side. From there I chose my colour scheme and pulled out all of the yellow, blue, red bits and pieces that fitted with the sketch/layout design.
As usual, I also have a process video for you which I hope you enjoy! Just hit that play button below 🙂
So, make sure you head over here for the rest of the DT’s inspirational shares and over here to the FB group to upload your take on this fun sketch! I’ll leave you with a few close ups!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I’ll be back soon with my next share! Until then, happy scrapping!! Mel xx
Hello scrappy friends and a big welcome to my blog today! I’m here for my next share for CUT to YOU.
I hope you are enjoying this months new releases as much as I have been! And those A-MAZING Christmas cut files, swoon! Anyways, I am here today to share this fun layout I created!
I’m not entirely convinced that when Gwen created this “Study Squad” cut file she had this type of “learning” on the radar however I felt it was a perfect match for this photo of my boys learning how to make their Mumma a pod coffee 😉
I’ve pulled out my stash of the Pink Fresh Studio “Let’s Stay Home” collection for this one and have backed the cut file with (mostly) the 6×6 paper pad. I simply could not resist the awesome “Better Things Are Ahead” patterned paper that I may have been hoarding 😉 So much colour and so, so fun!!
I, of course, have a process video for you, which is linked below.
And to finish off, some close up shots
And that is a wrap from me today!! I am off to get creating with some of the fun and beautiful new Christmas designs! What will you cut first???
Thanks for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping! Mel xx
Hey CTY friends and family ❤ I’m really excited to be here today with you to share my most recent creation using some of Gwen’s gorgeous cut files!
I could not resist the fun new “Tropical Punch” cut file and cut that on textured white cardstock.
As soon as I saw this cut file I knew which photo’s/memories I wanted to scrap. I also immediately knew that the Happiness collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio would be the PERFECT match!
I have a process video linked below for you!
And to finish off some close up shots!!
I hope that enjoyed my share today and that I have inspired you to create a fun bright page using any one of the gorgeous new cut files in the store!
Hey and hello my scrappy friends!! Welcome to my blog today for my first share for October!
This page was created for the Scrap The Boys October 2020 “Halloween” challenge and I had SO MUCH FUN creating this one!
I was inspired to use 2 cut files from CUT to YOU and that was my starting point for this one! I’ve used the Halloween 2 cut file – brand new last month.
I’ve used lots of mixed media on this page including on all of my cut files which were cut on white cardstock. But you can see what I’ve used and how I used them on my process video linked below!
Like I said, this was a super fun layout to create – I really do love getting messy – and I hope that this inspires you to play along with us this month! You can join the challenge 2 ways – here on the blog, or here in the FB group!
Make sure you pop by one at least one of the STB social links to check out all of the A-MAZING DT inspiration for this month! STB Blog STB Instagram STB FB Page
I can’t wait to see what you create and I hope you have enjoyed my share today. I’ll leave you with a few close ups!
Hi there and welcome for one last share of mine using the Pink Fresh Studio’s “Let’s Stay Home” collection, “Slow Days and Long Walk” for Anna’s Craft Cupboard.
One of my other favourite patterns in this collection is the gorgeous diagonal stripe on “Around Our Hood” which I may have been hoarding!! Because I love it so much I didn’t want to cover it all up and decided on a clean design!
The first thing I did was to set aside all of the “stay home” and “walking” pieces; using a variety of stickers, ephemera and chipboard flair. Because I wasn’t sure exactly which pieces I would end up using on my design this was a good place to start.
Have you noticed that I have been using Annabelle acrylics on all of my pages this month?? There was no way I couldn’t include one on today’s layout and the “time together” worked perfectly! With my photo chosen, my title and my sub-title chosen I was now ready to start sticking! I built my title using an ephemera piece and again, the mini puffy alphas.
I matted my photo with 2 patterns from the 6×6 paper pad and tucked in some torn pink card stock. As I mentioned above, I LOVE this pattern paper and as I added embellishments I kept them grouped closely together.
I really love the flow of my page and how everything is cascading from the top left to the bottom right; giving your eye a very clear line to follow. This came about as I just wanted to keep adding MORE of the fun pieces along that diagonal line. The way all of my pieces tuck in together and layer just makes my heart happy!
I wrote in a couple of sentences about the photo and my story. Lastly, I added in some enamel dots in 3 places and a sprinkling of grey ink using Distress Oxide in Hickory Smoke.
Well, that wraps up my shares using Pink Fresh Studio’s “Let’s Stay Home” collection. I really love that I have been able to use this collection for a variety of stories and “styles.” And one final process video for you!
I hope that you have enjoyed my shares and I look forward to sharing more inspiration in the near future! Until next time take care, stay safe and happy scrapping! Mel
I used the “Best Place To Be” pattern paper for my background. I also wanted to go with a central design without lots of mess for this one! Different for me but just where I felt like going for these photos!
Working with my idea of a central design I grabbed 2 of the same pattern papers from the 6×6 paper pad. These were stuck to the centre of the page. I sneakily conserved some of the paper from behind the photos! Keeping to the central design I used another 6×6 pattern paper to mat my 2 x 3″x 4″ photos. This way that layer could evenly overlap the edges on both sides of the vertical column of paper.
In order for my photos to really pop I added 2 more layers of pattern paper behind my photos making use of the last scrap I had of the “Kind Hearts” 12×12 paper. The other layer is from the 6×6 paper pad. I have adhered the 2 pieces together to get a big enough piece to span over the vertical column.
Since I love that yellow so much I wanted to add in more as I really felt it makes the rest of the elements and the photos pop! I started by inking the edges of the biggest layer behind my photo. Then I used an edge punch with the yellow paper from the 6×6 paper pad to add a border to either side of the vertical column.
Time to add some finishing touches! Starting with some ephemera pieces, stickers, a fabric bow and a piece from the 6×6 cut apart sheet. Next, a sub title using the mini puffy alphas, some enamel dots and white Annabelle acrylic butterflies and my page is done!
I, of course, also have a process video for you all and I do hope that you enjoy!
I really, truly am loving working with this collection!! Make sure you head back for my next and final share with Pink Fresh Studio’s “Let’s Stay Home” collection! Melinda
