{Colour Blast} Magic & Brains ~ A Scrapbook Layout

Hello my scrappy friends and welcome to my blog today! I’m here sharing my last post for Colour Blast for January. I hope you enjoy my process!

Funny how I came to this design though because I started with a patterned paper background and decided I just didn’t love it, heck I didn’t even like it really so I thought I would use what I had done to create something I at least liked!!

First up – patterned paper and White Heavy Gesso. A thick-ish/random, smeary coat in the area where I was going to put my photo’s. I left that over night to dry.

When I came back the next day I turned my camera on and you can see my process from here on out below and keep scrolling for my step by steps….

I decided I wanted a dark contrast so grabbed my Dusty Charcoal Colour Paste and a stencil and after I marked where my photos were going I added some paste in 2 different areas. And smeared it on the top left so added a 3rd place with the paste.

Before this dried I knew I wanted an orange/black/gold colour scheme so I grabbed my Bling Colour Embossing Powder and sprinkled a little here and there over my Colour Paste and heat set the lot! Not only does heat setting it set the embossing powder but it also makes the Paste all bubbly and gives more awesome texture!

At this point I was thinking “Hrm, I’ll add a bit more colour and maybe I’ll start to love it more” so I grabbed my Sunset and Saffron Colour Sprays and some packaging and got to work using the smooshing (yep, that’s the techy word 😉 ) technique, working a small-ish section at a time and drying in between.

While I was working on that it occurred to me that the reason the 3rd spot of paste wasn’t gelling was because I hadn’t added gesso first, so I told myself “I’ll add some smooshing here too and that will work better”. TBH with you, NOPE, just nope! Ok, time to re-think my idea!

I grabbed some circle punches and dies and got to chopping up the paper – I did feel some satisfaction here – and immediately I was liking it better!! White cardstock and clear gesso for the background and I was ready to go again!

I added some ink to both my circles and the thin mat I had applied to my photos using Archival Black ink and placed the circles and photos in a configuration, first horizontally, that I thought would work. Meh, so I tried vertically and was like “Yay!! THIS is it!!”

Remove everything from the page again, grab my black archival ink and a couple of texture stamps and stamp, stamp, stamp!!

Next, I used both my Bling Colour Shimmer Spray and Colour Shimmer Pot to apply lots of pretty gold to the background. I sprayed the mist first, I wanted a fine, light coverage then I used the Bling Colour Shimmer Cube with both the packaging technique and also a paint brush and added colour to my hearts content.

Oh, and of course splatters! I used my paint brush and Colour Shimmer Pot. And Colour Spray in Roadbase also using a brush!

I added some gold stitching with my sewing machine through some of the circles and then it was time to stick, stick, stick!

I did add some more Bling splatters after all the circles were stuck down but before the photo was stuck down.

And lots of close ups! Enjoy!

So, just because you are not loving what you started does not mean that either a) you need to ditch the whole lot or b) you have to “put up with” and keep what you don’t love!! Play! I’m sure, like me you have a good stash of awesome product that can sometimes be neglected, pull it out and PLAY!!!

That’s it for me for this post and January so see you again next month, I cannot wait to play along with the next challenge, it’s a fun one 😉

{ScrappingClearly} Ohh La La ~ A Scrapbook Page

Hey, hey and Happy Boxing Day!! I hope that however you spent yesterday you had a fabulous day surrounded by those you love! If your celebrations (like mine!) continue on for a bit longer I hope you have the very best time and manage to sneak in some scrappy time!

Today I am here sharing with you a page I created using the Pink Paislee C’est La Vie collection. I absolutely love this collection and have kind of been keeping it for a “special” occasion so every now and then I pull it out and have a play!

I don’t know what it is about this paper but I love it! Simply adore it so I decided to go with that as my background. I have used some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink in the background with the packaging technique for a little colour and texture!

A couple of paper layers behind my photo as a mat which are Papers #2 and #8

I knew straight away I wanted to use the acrylic mirror words for my title so also decided to add a little gold in the background with my Bling Colour Shimmer Pot. I love the colour but also the way this paint dries if it’s a bit thicker, it’s almost like a puffy dot of colour!!

I grabbed the “feeling fancy” piece from the Cut Apart Paper #1 and the floral acetate tag from the ephemera pack and layered them up next to my photo. I’ve also used a plain white die cut I had on my desk as a layer and then I found a scrap of this paper and fussy cut a few butterflies for my finishing touch along with some gold sequins by Studio Calico.

This page is a little “not me” because, as you can see, there is no journalling! It’s not often I have a page with no journalling but sometimes I don’t need to add any. Like in this case, I have other pages that go with this event and this is just a photo of me that I really like, I feel pretty fancy and the cut apart sums that up along with the title!

That’s it for me for today, and in fact this year, however I will be back VERY early in the New Year with another share! I will be playing with the Pink Fresh Boys Fort collection and cannot wait to pull it out and find time to play!

Wishing each and every one of you a very happy New Year, may 2018 be YOUR year and may it be filled with lots of love and laughter, and of course, LOTS of scrappy time 😉

Just Adorable ~ A Travellers Notebook Insert

Hey, hey, hey!! I am right on time this month with my K+ share, haha! The end of the month is here already and I managed to sneak in at the last minute as usual!!

Here is the challenge for this month and I struggled for most of the month coming up with an idea but then suddenly, boom it hit me today!!

Here is my take on the September challenge

I decided when I purchased (another!!) a pocket page notebook from The Stamp Spot that I would dedicate it to our Snapchat photos! So many silly, fun photo’s and honestly, how many 12×12 pages can one make with them?!? This is my very first layout in the PPN and I am super happy with it!

Here are a couple of close ups!

I kept it pretty simple; kraft background, gold (in the form of Bling Colour Paste and Colour Shimmer Spray by Colour Blast), black and a little wood veneer and really love how it came out in the end!

There is a process video for this little page as well, just click play in the box below and voila!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping!

{Colour Blast} Diamond – An Art Journal Page

Hello Colour Blasters, it’s Melinda here with you today and I am super excited to share with my latest make using the A-MAZING Colour Blast goodies!!

Today I have an art journal page for you all, I just wanted to play a little so started by finding a quote. This was super simple, I jumped on my computer, went to google and simply searched “quote” – I know, right?! So this quote jumped out at me pretty quickly and I ran with it!

I love, love, love the quote and I love, love, love pink diamonds 😉 But this quote just spoke to me in it’s entirety so now I not only had a quote but a colour scheme as well so off I went and grabbed some yummy goodies and my art journal and got started!

First up a quick, messy, texture-y coat of White Heavy Gesso using a wide paint brush. I wanted the texture of the bristles so I wasn’t too careful about making it neat and flat! I forgot to take a photo of that step, oopsies, but you can see the texture as the page comes together!

Next up I grabbed my Lollipop Colour Shimmer Dust and a tiny paint brush. I flicked some of the dust around the page, squirted it with a little water and then moved my page around to get the colour moving. You can see in this photo the texture of the gesso and also some product from another project where I had applied my left over product.

Oh, I so love this colour!

Next up I pulled some black, white, pink and gold washi from my stash and added random strips in a cross on my page.

Next I applied a quick coat of matte medium from my stash to seal those layers but then decided I wanted to tone down some of the colour and pattern so grabbed my white gesso again and using my finger smudged it all over the washi and some of the shimmer dust.

Next up a little stamping using a sketchy diamond stamp and a text stamp and some Staz-On ink.

I dried that off with my heat tool and grabbed my Dusty Charcoal Colour Shimmer Cube which I had activated with some water and a paintbrush and again, just added colour straight over the top of what I had already added knowing that it wasn’t going to mix as I had applied both the matte medium and the gesso.

Again, I decided that there was too much colour so when this was dried off I grabbed a baby wipe and smudged some of the colour around and took some off the page. I dried that off with my heat tool and while I had the Colour Shimmer Cube out I added some splatters with my paint brush.

Time for my quote!

I cut some diamond shapes on my Cameo and also the word “diamond”, I left the cut pieces on the mat and coloured straight on top of that so it was easier to keep all the bits and pieces together.

I have used my Colour Shimmer Cubes in Bling, Punch and Blush. First up some black stamping on the word using the same text stamp, then a thick-ish coat of Bling. Then I grabbed a couple of paint brushes and randomly added colour to all of my diamond shapes. When that was all dried off I added some splatters of the pinks and bling on the diamonds and only the bling on the word. I LOVE how these look!

While that dried I added a little more texture to my page using a text stencil and some Bling Colour Paste, again in that kind of cross shape down and across the page. I left that to dry naturally as I didn’t want the paste to bubble as it dried.

Time to assemble! I added in some cheese cloth behind my “diamond” word, added some tiny alpha stickers and built my quote. I only ended up using 2 of the diamonds I created – one of the little ones and a medium but love how it looks!

My very final touch was a few splatters of Bling Colour Shimmer Cube and Roadbase Colour Spray! And my page was done!

It was so fun just playing and adding colour and not really having an idea of what or where I was going when I started!

Here are a couple more close ups of some of some of the details

Oh, how I love that Bling Colour Paste, it dries so gloriously gold and shimmery and just beautiful!!

If you haven’t done it for a while grab some random products and have a play! And why not participate in the brand new challenges we have starting this month!

This month’s is a fun and easy one

I’ll be sharing my take on the challenge later in the month 😉 For now here is the link to the FB group if you are not already a member so you can load up your take on the challenge!

Here is the process video if you’d like to see this art journal page come together

Thanks for stopping by and happy creating!!

{ScrappingClearly} Heart This Tradition ~ A Scrapbook Layout

Hello there scrappy friends!! I hope today finds you well and not too confused by my blog post title! Today I’m here with you and I am sharing a CHRISTMAS page I created for my latest share for ScrappingClearly! Yep, Christmas.

Kylie very generously sent me the Pink Fresh Oh Joy collection for scrapping my December memories (which I am S-L-O-W-L-Y) getting through but oh boy, I just love every single thing about this collection!! It is gorgeous, Pink Fresh always do an amazing job designing!

Enough chatter and onto my page! I needed a little help picking my photo today as I have photos of each of my boys with Santa, both of them with Santa and myself with Santa and he picked Mummy and Santa!! This is a little tradition I have done almost every year as an adult and honestly, I love it!! I believe it helps to keep some of the magic alive in me which in turn keeps the magic alive for my boys.

Here is my page and I love how it came together!!

I was, however, going in with every intention of NOT doing mixed media, as you can clearly see, that was an epic fail!! Haha! But I have used some Colour Sprays from Colour Blast (Sapphire to be exact) and the very simple packaging technique!

When my spray was dried I added some stencilling using a Tim Holtz mini layering stencil (the exact one I used is not in store but Kylie has a few others in stock) and the beautiful Bling Colour Paste.

I have ONLY used scraps from the 6×6 paper pad to layer behind my photo and that black and white 12×12 paper in the background (Under The Tree) has a big heart cut out of the middle of it that I used on a previous project! I simply cut down my other paper (Tis the Season) to a size I could see would cover the heart and added some white gesso!

Next up I added in some stickers and that beautiful gold mirror gift sticker. I added a few splatters of the same colour I smooshed and also some splatters of gold water colour and Roadbase Colour Spray.

I love how this page came together and if you are interested you can watch my whole process simply by pressing the play button below or heading over to YouTube to either the ScrappingClearly YT channel or my own YT channel!

As always, thanks for stopping by! If you are like me and still scrapping last years (not to mention all the previous years!!) Christmas photos make sure you head to the shop for this gorgeous collection, it will not disappoint!!

Until next time, happy scrapping!!

{Colour Blast} Can’t Wait to Meet You! ~ A Scrapbook Layout

Hi there scrappy friends!! I’m with you today sharing a page I created without using any patterned paper for Colour Blast Australia!!

I will start off straight away by saying that this is not my ultrasound! The journalling does explain that this is indeed my future niece or nephew!

I started this page with one idea in my head and decided as I was going that I just didn’t love where it was going! You can see in the video below my process and where the layout changes directions!

And here are my step-by-steps!

First up, I decided to grab a stencil and some Colour Pastes. I have used the pastes one at a time and applied randomly all over the stencil (onto vellum) with some parts of the paste thicker than others and left that over night to dry.

The next day when I came back to my dried mixed media circles I started fussy cutting the circles. As a last minute decision I decided to leave some of the wonky edges for something a little different.

I started to lay the circles and my photo onto my page and at this point I decided that the circles were too big and I just wasn’t loving it!! Instead of starting all over I decided to grab some punches, some dies and my scissors and cut a bunch of different sized hearts and felt much happier with that decision!

Next to set to work on my background. A very quick, light coat of White Heavy Gesso to the parts of the page where I knew I wanted to add some extra colour.

Then comes one of my most fave products at the moment – Colour Shimmer Pots!! For this page I have used the Just Blue (Oh my, I love, love, love this colour!!) as I wanted a contrast but also not an opposite end of the colour wheel contrast! I activated with a little water and just painted the colour on without too much thought other than the basic idea of where I wanted the focus. I did dry this off a little with my heat tool but first I soaked up a lot of the water from the top of the page.

After that was dried I pulled out my Singin The Blues Colour Shimmer Spray and did a couple of spritzes for a bit of colour variation and again left that to dry.

I wanted to bring in some of the green also so did a few squirts of the Apple Of My Eye Colour Shimmer Spray as well and let that dry thoroughly.

Time for splatters! I have very simply used the nozzle from each of the bottles of Colour Shimmer Spray in Bling, Just Blue, Singin The Blues and Apple of My Eye and left that to dry.

While that was drying I pulled out my chipboard pieces and decided to do a multi colour emboss! First up I have used Deep Water Embossing Powder.

After that was dried and cooled I added Bling embossing powder and heat set that too. These 2 colours mix beautifully together while still being able to see the 2 different colours. I love this look!

Time to pull it all together and here is the end design again for you!

I love the pops of all those different colours and how beautifully they all sit together on the page!

Oh, and I forgot, I added a little stamping behind the chipboard! I meant to do that BEFORE I stuck down the chipboard but forgot! Thankfully I had only adhered it with staples where the photo was going to be so it was easy enough to lift the chippy – perhaps you will remember sooner 😉 I have used a grey (because I thought I had grabbed black until I stamped!) archival ink and love the extra detail it adds!

I also REALLY love the extra dimension that the vellum gives. When the hearts were stuck down only in the middle the edges all lifted up which was a happy surprise!

And one last photo, this is the title area! I love how those hearts look and those alphas match perfectly with the colours I have chosen!

So, how will you take this fun technique and do YOUR thing with it? We would love to see so please make sure you stop by the FB group and share your own creations with us!

Also, I am making my way over to Brisbane for the Scrapbooking Expo in a couple of days and to say I am excited would most surely be the understatement of the year!! I may be helping out on the Colour Blast stand (woohoo!!) or you may see me wandering around, either way please head over to the CB stand and say hi!!

Whatever your scrappy plans are make sure you have fun and get a little messy 😉

Until next time,

Melinda

{Colour Blast} Details ~ A Wedding Scrapbook Page

Hi, hi and hello!! I’m here with you today sharing another somewhat “clean” mixed media scrapbook page!

I had this cut file on my computer that I have been desperate to play with so finally manged to cut it and get creating with it! You will notice that along the left hand side there are a couple of other pieces that I had cut – these were for another project but I figured I may as well use up the whole 12×12 – 2 (well, actually 3) birds with one stone 😉

I have left the cut file on my mat for all of the wet mediums that I apply and I have not applied gesso at all!

First up, I challenged myself to use something other than blues and greens so I pulled all of my reddish/pink Colour Blast products.

These are in order, from left to right, front to back, as follows:
Colour Spray – Bubblegum, Sunset, Love
Colour Shimmer Spray – Rose Petal, Lipstick, Snow White and Bling
Colour Shimmer Dust – Lollipop and Candy
Colour Mica Powder – Watermelon
Colour Paste – Lipstick, Fire Engine, Rose Petal and Bling

The first layer was the beautiful Colour Shimmer Dusts – I used both the Lollipop and Candy. I leave my paint tray to air dry when I still have colour left over so I simply used a dropper to add a few drops of water and re-activate the colour.

I used a wet brush and literally just painted the 2 colours here, there and wherever took my fancy!

Next up I added the Watermelon Mica Powder. I added a tiny amount to some old packaging with a spatula, added a few drops of water and applied in the same way as the Shimmer Dust.

Because I wasn’t using heaps of water the colours dried pretty quickly but I wasn’t too concerned about the colours mixing anyway as they were all from the same family.

Next up the sprays. I used the Bubblegum and Love Colour Sprays and literally again, just squirted some here and there. And then to some of the more “splotty” areas I used a wet paintbrush to give more of a water colour effect.

Last layer of pink colour!! The beautiful Colour Shimmer Sprays. I used the Rose Petal and the Lipstick and applied the exact same technique as with the Colour Sprays.

After that was dried I peeled off my cut file from my cutting mat and decided I wanted a little pop of more colour starting with some splatter in the Bubblegum Colour Spray.

Next up some gold so out came the Bling Colour Paste and stencil from Dusty Attic. I applied the paste randomly across the cut file in a few different places and left to air dry.

I wanted a little more sparkle and shine so again, Bling to the rescue! This time the Colour Shimmer Spray. I used the nozzle to apply drips and then I spritzed over the whole cut file from distance for an all over very subtle shine. Oh la la!!

Time to assemble the page! Or so I thought! I had picked out my photo but decided I needed a little something extra behind it so, again, Bling to my rescue!

First up the Shimmer Spray applied with a dry paint brush straight onto the white cardstock. After that dried another stencil with the Colour Paste. Perfect, just what it needed.

NOW I can assemble my layout!

I was terrified as I was working on the cut file that it was going to be Oh My Goodness, that is so PINK but up against the white cardstock with the black and white photo it is not as PINK as I expected so I am super happy with how it all worked out in the end.

Look at that shiny gold sparkle in the background, so beautiful!!

Right at the end I decided I needed something extra. Some tiny black splatters! I pulled out my Roadbase Colour Spray and a tiny little paint brush and flicked a little splatter all around. Voila, one completed page!

I hope I inspire you to challenge yourself to do something a little different. To just have a play! Please do come and share your work in the Facebook group here, we love to see what everyone is doing with their Colour Blast stash!

Until next time!

{Colour Blast} Shine

Hi and hello I’m here with you today sharing a 12×12 layout I made for Colour Blast Australia!

You can see my process here on the YT channel and you can read on for a full step-by-step.

Ok, so first up I started with a white piece of cardstock, some gyprock tape (the fun things we find in the husbands workshop 😉 ) and some White Heavy Gesso. I totally forgot to take a photo but I quickly stuck down some of the tape in 2 places – where the photo was going (top left third of the page) and the bottom right hand corner. You can see the tape in a couple of close ups below. Once that was stuck down I applied a quick coat of gesso with a paintbrush.

Next up I added colour. Again I have used the beautiful Colour Shimmer Dust this time in Navy. I added a little water, mixed them up and applied some water to the page and then used a big brush to apply the colour to over the top of the gessoed tape. And then I used the same brush for some sprinkles of the colour.

And the bottom right hand corner

I put that aside to dry and then got to work on my chipboard.

I have used 2 pieces which I have cut up to go behind my photo. I decided to go with the Just Blue Colour Embossing Powder so I used my ink dabber to apply embossing ink, then sprinkled on the embossing powder and heat set on all the chippy.

I can’t believe this is the 1st time I have used this beautiful colour but oh, I just love, love, love it and so glad I added it to my stash!

Next up I did some stamping with some black Archival ink. I have used a stitching stamp and some word stamps and I just stamped all over the place, some vertically and some horizontally.

And my final addition to the background was some ink splatters using both the Roadbase Colour Spray and the Bling Colour Shimmer Spray.

I left that to air dry and then got to putting my page together. I have used mostly a wet adhesive due to the mixed media in the background and I just love how this page came out in the end!

And some close ups

I just love this little title area with that colour, chipboard and punchinella!

And more of that beautifully embossed chipboard, swoon!!

And, lastly, those fun splatters in the Navy, Roadbase and Bling.

Thank you, as always, for stopping by and taking the time out of you day to check out my project!

Until next time, happy scrapping!!

{Colour Blast} There May Be Something There ~ Art Journal Page

Hello, hello!! I’m here with you today sharing an art journal page I put together using some of the beautiful Colour Blast products!

Here is my completed page, can you guess which movie I was totally inspired by?! Haha

If you guessed Beauty and The Beast you would be spot on. It is after all my fave all time Disney princess movie and to say I am excited about the new movie coming out would be an understatement!

First up, a quick coat of Black Heavy Gesso – this stuff is gorgeous, easy to apply and when it dries it is beautifully smooth and black.

Next up a quick spray of the oh so pretty Bling Colour Shimmer Spray through a brick stencil. I then stamped off the excess back onto the page in a couple of places. (I totally got caught up in the process of playing and forgot an in progress shot but this is a close up of the stencil work after it had dried).

My whole reason behind creating this page was I had picked up this gorgeous Prima stencil and have recently received my DT order which included the Apple of My Eye Colour Paste and I just knew they were made for each other so I used both the Apple of My Eye and the Fire Engine Colour Paste through the rose part of the stencil and as that was drying I knew this was going to be my ode to Beauty and The Beast 😉

And so as not to waste any precious paste I had another art journal open, awaiting product. I flipped over the rose stencil and applied the excess to another page….

Next up, while all that beautiful texture was drying I worked on my title/quote. I decided to use some thickers but the colour didn’t really work (LOVED the font) so I grabbed my Lipstick Colour Embossing Powder, my embossing ink and set to work.

At this point I added in my doodling for the jar with a white acrylic paint pen and also 3 more quotes from the movie with a gold acrylic paint pen.

I decided I wanted a little extra texture in the background so another stencil, this time with Bling Colour Paste, in 3 places. And I spread the excess off onto the other page, again, I can’t bring myself to just wash this gorgeous stuff down the sink!! It was late at this stage so I left that to air dry over night.

The next morning it was all dry and I was loving how it looked. Time to finish it off!! I used my wet adhesive to stick down the thicker letters and some little clear alpha stickers for the in between words.

I really love how this turned out, I do love to just play and see where I end up. Helps to have amazing products to play with!!

Here are a couple of close ups and a link to my YT process video if you would like to watch my page come together.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

{Colour Blast} DIY Cards with the Valentines Pack’s

Hello, hello!! I’m here with you today sharing the fun I have been having with my very own Valentine’s Pack #2 from Colour Blast!!!

Oh, the colours and products in this pack are just gorgeous – not to mention AWESOME value for money!!

Being Valentine’s Day and having Valentine’s pack’s I figured I may as well create at least one Love Day card for my significant other! It is after all a special day for us as we had our very 1st date on Love Day in 2006 so I wish you all a very Happy Love Day with whoever you celebrate and however you celebrate!

Now onto the fun stuff!!

Here are the 2 cards I have created and I still have hearts left over so I think you will see them appear on other projects very soon!

There is a process video for you to watch if you wish, just click on the play button below!

And here are my step-by-steps, but most importantly I think if you are going to re-create this or something similar, have FUN and experiment with your products, this was a super fun way for me to play AND be productive 😉

First up I grabbed a scrap of white cardstock and used an embossing ink with the Snow White Colour Embossing Powder to apply some sparkle to the background before adding any colour.

I literally dumped the WHOLE container onto the paper to make sure I had even coverage. Make sure you tip the excess straight back into the container so you can use it later!

Next up, time to add some colour! I used the Candy Colour Shimmer Dust – swoon, I seriously love these Shimmer Dusts!! A tiny paint brush, a little sprinkle and then a wet big water colour type paint brush!

I did a few extra sprinkles of the Colour Dust and added water to get the effect I was after – which was a water colour, not even coverage and I LOVE how it came out!

Look at all that sparkle!! The Shimmer Dust has so much shimmer but on top of that embossing powder it seriously just pops off the paper ❤ Oh, you may also notice some faint splatters – I simply dripped a few drips of water using my paint brush onto the already dry Colour Shimmer Dust then soaked the excess water up with a paper towel and voila, extra texture!

I felt like it needed a little extra detail so I grabbed some Staz-On black ink and a couple of stamps – to be specific, some stitched stamps and a text stamp.

I stamped once after I inked up and then stamped off a few times until there was no ink left on the stamp with each of the stamps. Love the extra details stamping provides!

Onto the beautiful Colour Paste in Fire Engine – swoon – I love this colour so much!

A tiny heart stencil, some colour paste and more texture and a deeper pinky/red colour added. I popped this piece aside and let air dry and got to work on the backing of my card.

First up a piece of textured white cardstock – I am ALWAYS running out of or looking for black cardstock so this is a way to beat that problem and quiet possibly use up any old card scraps you have in colours you don’t like 😉 I grabbed what has affectionately now been dubbed my “black gesso brush”  and my  Black Heavy Gesso and applied a quick coat over the whole card front. This piece measures 10.5cm x 14.7cm if you are wondering!

This gesso applies beautifully, dries smoothly and dries super quick! Love it, I can see a lot of use in my future!

I decided to add some shimmer to the black gesso using the oh so beautiful Snow White Colour Shimmer Spray through a stencil. I did “mess” it up a little but I certainly wasn’t going for perfection! LOL! Love how this looks on the black gesso!

When my Colour Shimmer Spray was dried I added some more texture, again with the Colour Paste in Fire Engine and through a text stencil.

This got put to the side next so I could make my hearts. These were super simple to create! When the first piece of cardstock was completely dried I took my scissors and hand cut some hearts – I am a bit particular and like my hearts to be even so I trimmed a rough square off the card, folded the square in half and cut a heart shape. And if your not 100% happy with the shape its super easy to re-trim!

And here are all my hearts cut out!

I just love them!

When these were cut I started playing with the hearts and placement and came up with a sentiment. This very simple “love you” text which I decided to stamp in embossing ink and heat emboss with the Bling Colour Embossing Powder. So pretty, swoon!!

Time for assembly! I used a combination of tape adhesive, wet adhesive and hot glue to stick all the bits down. After I finished the first card I turned off my camera and put the 2nd one together. The biggest difference is that I used the Snow White Colour Embossing Powder through a stencil on the black gesso card base. And you can see that detail in the close up below!

And here are the cards, on their own

This is the one I created on video and have provided the step-by-step’s for

And the one created off screen.

And here are a few close ups of all the texture and fun of the beautiful Colour Blast products!

As these Valentine’s Pack’s are only available for a short time make sure you head over here to pick up either or both packs and take advantage of the awesome deal that Tenisha has put together!

Thank you , as always, for stopping by and if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section below!

Happy Colour Blasting!!
