{ScrappingClearly} Ohh La La ~ A Scrapbook Page

Hey, hey and Happy Boxing Day!! I hope that however you spent yesterday you had a fabulous day surrounded by those you love! If your celebrations (like mine!) continue on for a bit longer I hope you have the very best time and manage to sneak in some scrappy time!

Today I am here sharing with you a page I created using the Pink Paislee C’est La Vie collection. I absolutely love this collection and have kind of been keeping it for a “special” occasion so every now and then I pull it out and have a play!

I don’t know what it is about this paper but I love it! Simply adore it so I decided to go with that as my background. I have used some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink in the background with the packaging technique for a little colour and texture!

A couple of paper layers behind my photo as a mat which are Papers #2 and #8

I knew straight away I wanted to use the acrylic mirror words for my title so also decided to add a little gold in the background with my Bling Colour Shimmer Pot. I love the colour but also the way this paint dries if it’s a bit thicker, it’s almost like a puffy dot of colour!!

I grabbed the “feeling fancy” piece from the Cut Apart Paper #1 and the floral acetate tag from the ephemera pack and layered them up next to my photo. I’ve also used a plain white die cut I had on my desk as a layer and then I found a scrap of this paper and fussy cut a few butterflies for my finishing touch along with some gold sequins by Studio Calico.

This page is a little “not me” because, as you can see, there is no journalling! It’s not often I have a page with no journalling but sometimes I don’t need to add any. Like in this case, I have other pages that go with this event and this is just a photo of me that I really like, I feel pretty fancy and the cut apart sums that up along with the title!

That’s it for me for today, and in fact this year, however I will be back VERY early in the New Year with another share! I will be playing with the Pink Fresh Boys Fort collection and cannot wait to pull it out and find time to play!

Wishing each and every one of you a very happy New Year, may 2018 be YOUR year and may it be filled with lots of love and laughter, and of course, LOTS of scrappy time 😉

{ScrappingClearly} Hello Olaf ~ A Scrapbook Page

Hi there my scrappy friends and fellow ScrappingClearly fans! I’m here with you sharing some inspiration for the fun July sketch challenge over at ScrappingClearly! You still have a few days left to get your entries in so make sure you head over to the FB group here to upload your take!

Today I am using the beautiful Pink Paislee C’est La Vie collection to document the day we met and brought home our bunny Olaf!

Here is the sketch in case you have missed it

And here is my take on the sketch!
I really, really loved this months sketch, once again designed by Peg – it was super fun to work with!

I have stayed pretty true to the sketch though I moved what I read as the stitching around the whole page further out and changed up 1 photo for 3. You’ll notice too that my title and journalling, though they take up the same space on the page as the sketch, are also changed up a bit!

I started with a quick coat of clear gesso all over the background paper (paper #10) and then grabbed my Metallic Mint gelato and mixed it with some water to make a watercolour paint for the background! I’ve also added in a couple of swipes of my Lime gelato. Doesn’t it look great! It’s hard to capture the sparkly finish on camera but, swoon!

I knew I wanted to line my photo’s up across the page over the watercolour and had decided to fussy cut some flowers from Paper #8 to layer behind the photo’s as well and LOVE how this looks!

I grabbed the ephemera pack for the big “hello” piece which I knew I was going to use for my title and also a gold edged label for the date. The black and white stripped alpha’s are from my stash.

I wanted to bring that yellow up the page so grabbed that yellow washi strip from the washi pack and layered that behind my photo at the top. While I had the washi out I tore off a small piece to go under my title.

I have used some of the cork hearts and black tiny vellum word stickers to finish my page off.

Oh, I have also used some scraps from Paper #3 & Paper #2 for layers behind my photo’s.

My process video is linked below if you would like to see my page come together

And that is that!! So, thank you for stopping by, I hope I have inspired you to pull out some goodies and play along with the July challenges in the last few days of the month!

Until next time, happy scrapping!!

{ScrappingClearly DT} Love with Pink Paislee C’est La Vie

Hi there scrappy friends!! I’m here with you today sharing this pretty page I created using the absolutely gorgeous C’est La Vie collection by Pink Paislee that you can pick up in the ScrappingClearly store here!

Without further ado, here is my final page and if you follow this link you can see my YouTube video with my process!

I love that with the PP ranges they have paper numbers and not names! It makes it so easy!! So, I have used paper #11 for the background and paper #02 for the little layer behind the photo (the pink B side). I have also used the last piece of this beautiful vellum from the Maggie Holmes Bloom collection as a bit of a bigger layer behind my photo. I have also added a doily from my stash 🙂

I have fussy cut 3 of these beautiful clusters of flowers from paper #03 and stuck them in 3 different places on the page. I used the beautiful mirror stickers for my title – simple and sweet – love. I have also used some of the bit and pieces from the ephemera pack and some of the stickers from both the washi sheets and the tiny word black and gold stickers.

The tag holds my journalling behind my photo and the tag came from the ephemera pack also.

The top cluster with some of those fussy cut flowers, a word sticker and a mirror heart. And some black stamping.

My title area and you can see the gorgeousness of those mirror stickers, swoon…..

And to the left of the photo.

And just a close up of the main embellishments and the branding strips I have cut from paper #02 and #04 to add to the bottom of the page to add a little grounding. Oh, and that adorable pink and gold me + you tab also from the ephemera pack.

Lastly I sprinkled a little Roadbase colour spray using a small paint brush, attached staples in 3 places and did a little stamping, also in 3 places.

I so love this collection and I love this photograph of my husband and I.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by the blog today, I love reading all the lovely comments and I hope you enjoyed this post and my video!

Happy scrapping!!

{ScrappingClearly DT} Hello 36

Hi there friends! Today I’m here with you today sharing this page I put together using the gorgeous Pink Paislee C’est La Vie collection and a silly SnapChat photo of myself from my birthday this year for ScrappingClearly!

Isn’t this collection just beautiful?!

I started with a stencil from my stash, some white cardstock and some Faber-Castell Whipped Spackle for some interest in the background and then grabbed my sushine colour shimmer spray by Colour Blast and also my bubblegum colour spray and sprinkled those across the page in a diagonal from top left to bottom right.

You can see here I have layered a couple of the frames from the ephemera pack behind the photo along with one of those cute tabs from the same pack which I used my machine to a little stitching through. A doily from my stash and I fussy cut some of those gorgeous flowers from this paper from the collection. Oh, and those GORGEOUS mirror acrylic pieces which I have used in 3 places also along the diagonal.

For the title I used the word hello from the mirror acrylic pieces and also the big acetate 3 and 6 from the ephemera pack. Love how this looks and that you can see the little details through the 36!

And my little cluster on the bottom right 🙂 I used some of the off-cuts from pushing the frame out of the paper it was in and a little tag (the mint and gold) as layering pieces from the ephemera pack under the tab. More fussy cut flowers and the 3rd mirror acrylic piece. Some more machine stitching, again with just a white thread.

When this was all assembled I cut down 2 sides and stuck this beautiful to the top and left hand side of the page for a little more interest, colour and texture. I then machine sewed around the 2 edges and distressed the card stock a little.

I am really happy with how this page came together and can’t wait to get the chance to play some more with this beautiful collection!

You can see my process here on my YouTube channel! (if it doesn’t load straight away, it is still uploading as I press publish here!)

Thanks for stopping by and have a happy, scrappy day!!
