{Scrappinng Clearly} WK28 2016 ~ Project Life

Hello scrappy friends!! I’m here with you sharing another PL spread – this one however is from our 2016 album, yep, 2016 – for ScrappingClearly!!

Again, trying to get it done and in the album! I’ve used the really pretty Citrus Bliss Collection by Pink Paislee paired with a few other bits and pieces from the store and love how light and airy the whole spread has come out!

Here is the left hand side; well, technically, this is the front of the page protector. I allowed myself the freedom of doing single pages if and when needed so somewhere previous in the album was a week on single spread and I just “went with it”.

And the right hand side/back of the page protector

I’ve tried to keep it simple yet interesting and am happy with the end result! Here are a few more close ups!

There is a process video available for this if you’d like to see my page come together! Just click on the play button below and you can watch right here in your browser!!

So, that’s it for this post, I am very much looking forward to jumping into my ScrappingClearly stash to play along with both of the challenges this month and sharing here on the blog! Until then, happy scrapping and keep sharing over in the FB group, we all love to see what fun things you do with the goodies from the store!!

{ScrappingClearly} XOXOXOXO

Hey, hey ScrappingClearly friends! Melinda here with you today sharing my latest creation for the design team! I was inspired by the products this time, starting with the background paper that I have used and am super happy with how this page turned out!

As you can see I have scrapped another wedding photo of mine and this is a photo of my Mum and I and I really love it. It’s one of those candid shots and looking back now I have no idea what we talking about or what made us smile like that but I do love this shot!!

I have used a total of 2 patterned papers for this page but love the bright, light and airy-ish look of how it all came together.

I have pulled out my 2 butterfly punches and started punching butterflies from the “Sour” 12″x12″ circles to get a range of patterns and colours and that’s as much as I knew at the beginning of this process.

I decided (of course!) that I need a little mixed media in the background and reached for my Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Ink pads. I have used a combination of Squeezed Lemonade (DI), Wild Honey (DO) and Worn Lipstick (DO) and the packaging technique after a quick, messy coat of gesso on the diagonal on my background.

I ended up stitching through all of the bigger butterflies in gold thread after they had all been tacked down lightly, leaving the wings free to be lifted after they dried. I LOVE the dimension this creates and yes, it will get squished somewhat when it goes into the album but I am ok with that!

I fussy cut my title from the Citrus Bliss Insta Kit square overlays and really like how that sits and is quiet subtle.

My finishing touches were some Studio Calico chipboard sticker hearts (the text ones only) and some Studio Calico sequin dots. I made sure to use just the orange-y coloured ones for this page.

I did record my process and if you wish to see that just press play below and voila!

Oh, after the camera was off I did sprinkle some gold mist along that same diagonal line, ensuring I covered up my photo! No date stamp or journalling (I know, shocking, right?!) but since it is going in my wedding album I kinda know what date it was and most wedding layouts (I’ve discovered at least!) are more about the photos and less about the story.

So, that’s it for me for my first post for October! I hope to get the chance to play along with both the sketch and the moodboard this month – I love them both!

Until next time, happy scrapping!

{ScrappingClearly} Zeus ~ A Scrapbook Page

Hey, hey ScrappingClearly friends! Melinda here with you today sharing my latest DT make!

I had a bit of fun with the moodboard for this page and am super happy with how it turned out! Here is a look at the moodboard if you have yet to see it or just need an update 😀

And here is my take

Something a bit different for me – LOTS of empty white space and I really, really love it!!

I was inspired by the colours – the yellow, pink and green and by the splats in the middle of the board which is where I started my page.

I have used the awesome Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink pads in Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio and Worn Lipstick with some old packaging and the quick, easy smooshing technique to create the base of my background. I used a textured piece of white cardstock for my background and did not gesso or prep the page at all – I prefer the way the oxides dry not on gesso.

Look at all those lovely layers of colour!! To get that beautiful layered effect make sure you dry each colour before either adding another layer of the same colour or moving onto the next colour! I also added splatters of each colour after I had finished layering all the colours!

I added some stamping using my Darkroom Door Arty Circles stamp and the same inks I had smooshed – keep the pink with the pink etc etc. I love the extra dimension and interest this simple stamping adds!

I then decided to add a little more texture this time with a light grey ink and a couple of texture stamps from my stash.

When I saw the very Spring, bright and light board this month I thought it would be a good time to scrap the first photo’s I took of our cat when we brought him home 9 years ago – you know, baby animals and all that jazz 😉 So I printed these 2 out and added a few paper layers from the Squeeze 12×12 paper by Pink Paislee. I have used both sides of the paper to bring in the yellow and pink.

For my title I have used these thickers and since I brought in the gold I added a couple of other small pops of gold using gold thread behind the photo’s in 2 places.

I added 3 of these Studio Calico printed veneer pieces in the green, the “hello” word and some of the white glittered hearts from the Pink Paislee sticker sheet.

My very final touch was some yellow sequins by American Crafts.

I am really happy with how this page turned out, different for me but fun none the less! Remember you have until the end of the month to get your own entries in in the FB group to win a voucher to the store!

Until next time, happy scrapping!!

{ScrappingClearly} Wander and Take It In ~ A Scrapbook page

Hello scrappy friends!! I’m here with you today sharing my latest DT make for ScrappingClearly!

For today’s post I was really inspired by this months sketch challenge, once again created by the very talented Peg! If you have yet to see it here it is

And here is my creation

I have used the very fun Citrus Bliss collection available ON SALE in store now and I will provide links at the end of my post!

I really stuck to the sketch as much as possible for this one – I really loved all those layers behind and next to the photo’s.

It took me a while to find the “right” photos for this page but after a bit of digging I found these 2 from our Honeymoon back in 2008 – a good size and the “right” orientation for the sketch!

I was busting to get these Thickers out and used so after some struggle getting the wording correct for the story I wanted to tell I got the Wander and the Take It In phrase on the page!

Paired, of course with some gorgeous Colour Blast Sienna in both the Colour Paste and Colour Shimmer Spray.

If you would like to see my whole process just click on the play button below and you can watch my process video – and make sure you hit the subscribe button so you never miss any shares on the channel!

I hope I have given you some last minute inspiration to play along with the sketch this month, make sure if you do you add it to the correct album over on the ScrappingClearly FB group to be in the draw to win a voucher to the ScrappingClearly store!!

That’s it for me for today, thanks so much for stopping by!

Until next time, happy scrapping!
