{Stash} K+ December ~ Bunny Love ~ A Scrapbook Page

Hey, hey and Happy New Year’s Eve!!

I think this will be my last share for the year so thank you ever so much for stopping by and for your continued support throughout the year. Scrapping is certainly my therapy and being able to share and inspire others is an added bonus!! I do truly appreciate every single comment and watch on my YT channel and from the bottom of my scrappy heart, thank you!

So, onto the layout! Today’s page is for the December 2017 K+ challenge and true to form, I am uploading just in time 😉

Here is the mood board and I was inspired by the circles and all the pretty pastel-y colours

And here is my page!

I started with these goodies – all Aussie made products – Colour Blast for the mixed media, a stamp from Scrap FX and D-lish Scraps for all of my embellishments, in fact, all from my Advent Calendar which I LOVED, thanks Amanda! I did add in some alphas and also that mason jar shaker which also came from D-lish.

Here are a couple of close ups.

Big shout out to the K+ team as well. You guys are so very inspirational and I am so looking forward to another year of challenges!!

Thanks ever so much for stopping by once again and I am looking forward to a new year filled with lots of scrappy goodness!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

{Colour Blast} Spread Your Wings ~ A Mixed Media Card

Hi there, today I am sharing my latest DT project for Colour Blast Australia. I have created a card I made for a work friend who has left and started a new life for herself overseas!

Here’s a little peeky….

Here is my process video if you are interested in seeing this card come together

And read on for my step-by-steps

First up, after I cut my card front to size (10cm x 14.3cm) I grabbed this very pretty stencil from my stash (it is a Dusty Attic one) and my Bling Colour Paste. I’ll tell you a little secret here – I wasn’t 100% certain of where I wanted this card to go so I took inspiration from my last DT project and ran with it!

I let that air dry and then came back and started to add colour. I had already picked some pieces I wanted to use to embellish with so grabbed my matching colours in Sunshine and Tangereen Dream in the Colour Shimmer Cubes and clean cup of water. I added a little water over the top of the stencilling and then added my colour, moving the card stock around to get the colour to move and adding water/more colour when necessary.

I did get impatient and used my heat tool to dry that off so I could move onto my next step. Splatters! Using the same colours and paint brushes I added in splatters – Sunshine to the Tangereen side mostly and Tangereen to the Sunshine side.

When that was dry I grabbed a damp baby wipe and rubbed over my Colour Paste to get the Bling to pop once again without any additional colour on top! Did you know that you could do that??
It really makes the colours of the pastes pop once again!

Next up, I dumped all of my pretty things onto my base and decided I needed a dark pop of colour behind all the bits so I grabbed a mini doily from my stash and my Dusty Charcoal Colour Shimmer Cube.

I love having white options because it makes it so easy to customise colours for any project. I just used a paint brush and painted over the doily – be careful if you are doing this that you are not too rough or you may rip/tear the doily! I almost did!! Again, I used my heat tool to dry this off and then applied a second coat in the same way.

One last step before bringing it all together – splatters in Dusty Charcoal. Again, same as above but with a different colour. I love the contrast it gives and that darker colour really makes the whole design just pop!

And here is my finished card. I think my friend will love it – it is being hand delivered by another friend to Dubai next week! I added in some stamping in a dark grey ink and mounted my card front onto this fun and bright yellow card stock to finish it off!

Thanks as always for stopping by! I hope I have given you some inspiration for whatever you have currently sitting on your desk and I’ll see you again in couple of weeks! Please make sure you head over to the FB group, Colour Blast Creative Corner, to share all of your projects using Colour Blast goodies, we love seeing them and being inspired by you all!

You Two Make Me Smile

Hi there and welcome to my blog today!!

I have this fun, mostly clean and simple layout to share with you today!

D-lish Scraps celebrated their birthday (a few months ago now!!) and had a fun online crop. I had about 30 minutes to complete this challenge which was the Mystery Box challenge. Amanda pulled out 5 ingredients and we were to include at least 3 of the 5. The 5 were veneer, flair, resin, bitty bag and doilies. I used 4 of the 5, only missing the bag!

I didn’t really have much of an idea of what I wanted to do but I pulled out this hilarious photo of my 2 boys and the bunny and that veneer “smile” and got to work.

The flair were made for me by my friend Michelle, the veneer crosses are from Rainbow Splendour, the resin flowers may have been Stampin Up and the doily from D-lish. I used the awesome Sunshine colour paste and embossing powder from Colour Blast Australia and am super happy how this page came together! Another memory documented and funny story told. I wonder what my boys will say in 5, 10 or even 20 years time!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

{Colour Blast DT} You and Me

Hi there scrappy friends! I’m here with you today sharing a fun page I created using some of the gorgeous Colour Blast products!!

First up I started with some white card stock and a Just Add Paper kit from the D-lish Scraps store I wanted to use and applied a clear coat of gesso to my page – which comes in super handy when I start adding my Colour Paste and make some smudges!

I used a cute cross stencil from the kit and the beautiful Singin The Blues Colour Paste and applied a few crosses across my page

I also added some stamping which you can see above using a roller phrase stamp both vertically and horizontally with an archival ink in black.

I have then gone in with the Envy Colour Shimmer Spray and just sprayed colour over the Colour Paste and dried off with a heat tool.

I have also used the nozzle from the Envy and the Steel Shimmer Sprays for splatters and finally mixed some Singin The Blues Colour Paste with water and sprinkled that in the same areas.

At this point I decided I needed a little something in the top left hand corner so applied a little gesso, then some washi and then sprayed with the Envy Colour Shimmer Spray and splattered.

I then got onto working on my title veneer piece. I have used some washi to tape off the top half of the piece, applied some versamark ink and then Steel Colour Embossing Powder. I heat set that and then repeated the process 2 more times to get a thick, saturated coverage.

Now time to put the whole page together!

Here is the completed page and I’m really happy with how it turned out!! You can see my whole process by clicking the below link or heading over to the Colour Blast You Tube channel

Make sure you subscribe over there to see all of the awesome work from myself and fellow (very talented!!) DT members!!

Have a fab day!

D-lish Scraps June moodboard

Hi there and welcome to my blog today!

I just wanted to drop in super quick and share a couple of cards I made using some more (most of the rest!) of the D-lish June Sweet and Sassy Just Add Paper kit for their monthly challenge 🙂

I did a little mixed media in the background of one using a stencil, some Singin the Blues Colour Paste by Colour Blast and some Glass bead Glitter gel by Faber-Castell. After I had the effect I wanted on that card front I flipped my stencil and used my brayer to give the background of my second card base some texture and colour.

Here are my cards

I added in a doily, some thread, some twine and that very pretty stamped and die cut flower from my stash and came up with this design.  This is the card I used the stencil on first and you can mostly see the detail in the top left and bottom right corners 🙂

And a close up of the detail.

And here is the second card

And a close up of the detail of this one
Thanks so much for stopping by today, that’s it for me!

I’m now off to enjoy a 4 day scrapbooking retreat, so excited!

Happy scrapping!

Colour Blast Design Team Entry 2016

Hi hi! As the title may suggest, this is my entry for the Colour Blast DT call for 2016!

I only have myself a couple of the gorgeous Colour Blast products but I love them!! I have 2 of the colour pastes – Bling (such a pretty shiny gold!!) and Singin the Blues (another gorgeous colour!) and they are so awesome to work with! And I was super surprised at how quickly they dried!

Here are my 3 current projects and a few things about each of them.

First up I will share the page that I created specifically for this call and created my 1st process video for (you can find that here) Sweet and Sassy

For this project I used both of my colour pastes along with some Faber-Castell Glass Bead Glitter Gel through a stencil to create my back ground. When that was dry I added in some splashes of hot pink Heidi Swapp colour shine and also some splashes of the singin the blues colour paste mixed with water to create a more liquid product. I also added in some splashes of Heidi Swapp colour shine in Navy at the very end.

All of the embellishments came from the June “Sweet and Sassy” Just Add Paper kit.

Here are some close ups:

I really wanted to try to get an up close and personal shot of the gorgeous texture in the background. This photo shows the fun texture but still doesn’t really do the Bling colour paste much justice, it is so, so, so pretty and shiny and gold IRL!

Onto my next layout

This one I very recently shared on my blog and entered the Kraft+ June “It’s a puzzle” challenge. All of the details can be found in this blog post here but a light coat of gesso and some mists and plastic packaging to create the background. And I backed that cut file with a 6×6 paperpad as my main focus 🙂

And for my 3rd project another very recent share!

This was my last share for Scrappingclearly and something a little different. Clean, straight lines and lots of hand stitching 🙂 You can find all of the close ups and details in this blog post on the Scrappingclearly blog or here on my own blog 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and wish me luck!!

Happy scrapping!

Better Late Than Not At All….

Hi there!! I think you are lucky enough to be witness to 2 coloured cards today!! I can’t believe it!! Haha!! This will be the 1st of the 2 posts and the other is my Tiddly Inks challenge card as part of the DT.

I was away on scrap retreat over the weekend working on our PL album and have been colouring since I got home, around the kids and hubby and life of course 😉

The amazingly talented Krista from Saturated Canary is having a colouring contest that ends on 21st July (which is today here in Australia) using some of her absolutely gorgeous new “Decade Stamps”. I love them but could not resist the 40’s and 50’s girls!! Head over here to pick them up for yourself and over here to see the rest of the range – swoon!!!

Anyways, here is my card, I just HAD to go for my most fave colour combo for myself at the moment which is pink and navy.

I had lots of fun colouring her up with the no lines technique using, of course, my copics. I have pulled papers, flowers, lace and a doily from my stash and love how this card turned out!! All the edges have been inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and I just couldn’t resist some frantage!! Flowers are from my stash and I think they came from D-lish Scraps and I know those swirly gold thingys (technical name!!) came from D-lish. Pearls are from Freckled Fawn that I got in one of their embellishment kits way back when I was getting them.

The copic combos I used are as follows
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 and R20
Hair: E43, E44, E47 and E49 Eyes: B000, B05, B09
Pink Outfit: R81, R83, R85, R87 (tip to tip blending with R85 and R89) and R89
Blue Outfit: B91, B93, B95 and B99
Grounding: W0, W1, W3 and W5

So, as I said, I had a heap of fun colouring her up, though at this size, she was definitely a challenge! But, so, so happy with how she turned out!!

Thanks for stopping by and keep your fingers crossed for me for one of those vouchers that are up for grabs!!

Happy scrapping!!
