{ScrappingClearly} Week One 2017 – February Mood Board Inspiration

Hi there scrappy friends! I’m here with you today sharing my take on the gorgeous ScrappingClearly February 2017 mood board, once again designed my very talented fellow DT member Peg Hewitt!

Here is the board again if you have not seen it!

All about the lovey stuff, awwww! I did avoid the purple – no surprises there but I loved the softness of the pink and the yellow. The picture in the top left reminded me of Summer and I just love that beautiful burst of sunlight in the heart!

I was sent the gorgeous Cocoa Vanilla Studios range called Free Spirit and I immediately thought it was a great match! I got to cutting up the papers and putting our first week of 2017 together for our Project Life album!

Here is the completed double page spread

Sorry about the glare, it is a bit tricky for me to photograph both sides together. But here they are separately

Left side

Right side
And if you wish to see this come together just click on the play button below to watch my YT process video!

I decided to use the WRMK pink embroidery floss also included in my kit to create some extra interest on 3 of the cards

This is our title card for the week

I loved how the word Summer looked in the font I chose to embroider with

And this photo is an absolute fave of mine! Love this memory – seeing the sheer joy and pleasure on my boy’s face just made my day! Oh, and in case it needs clarifying, Mia is the horses name ๐Ÿ˜‰

Also, on those 3 cards I brought in a little extra something using some Studio Calico gold sequins and some Ranger Flamingo Liquid Pearls (which I had never used before!) in a little cluster.

I have used my WRMK typewriter for all of the journalling and learnt that when using it, 1 layer of cardstock is just enough. If you put through 2 layers, it’s a little trickier ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks so much for stopping by today and make sure you get your take in for the gorgeous mood board challenge for this month over here in the FB group!

Happy scrapping!
Melinda

{Colour Blast} Hello Tiffany

Hiya!! I’m here with you today sharing my latest page for Colour Blast Australia!

There is also a process video available, just click play in the box below!

The 2 photo’s I have chosen to scrap today are of myself with 2 of my BIG bosses (the National Customer Experience Director and the National Customer Experience Manager) and my gifts and certificate I was awarded. I actually won a piece of Tiffany & Co jewellery so knew that I wanted the layout to have “that Tiffany blue” colour!

First up I applied a light coat of clear gesso knowing that during my process I was going to use alot of water. After that was dry I went in with my Steel and Snow White colour paste’s and a stencil to apply some dimension and colour to my background.

I applied the 2 colours randomly over my background and left to air dry.

Next up time to add some COLOUR! I specifically picked out the Peacock Colour Shimmer Dust for this page a couple of months ago so I was super excited to finally see this coming together.

I used a tiny paintbrush (I have seen some of the other DT members do this and this is my first time playing!) and sprinkled tiny amounts of the dust around the dried Colour Paste.

And then for the MAGIC of the dusts! You can’t even see where I have sprinkled the dust but watch as it comes to life when I add water! You can see this even better in the video ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh la la!! I so love this! And while playing I learned a couple of things about these beautiful dusts that I thought I would share! I do love this colour and love how this layout turned out in the end but if I’m honest, this background almost got ditched! When I added the water and tipped the page about to get the colour to spread there was some excess splatters which made colour go everywhere. I did want it more specifically only where the colour paste was but managed to clean up some parts (baby wipe where there was gesso) and then chopped down my 12×12 sheet to approx 10×10 and mounted my page, so crisis averted!ย

You only need a tiny amount of the dust, these colours are so fun and vibrant and go so far!

After my “cleaning” and chopping down of my background I wasn’t happy with how some of the edges of the colour were looking so I re-wet some dried dust and water (from my palette) and went in with a brush to give it less of a line and more of a water coloured effect.

And then with the left over colour I used the same brush to apply some sprinkles of the Peacock Dust.

And the final touch in finishing off my background was some splatters using the Roadbase Colour Spray and the Steel Colour Shimmer Spray.

I added in all my title, my embellishments, my journalling tag (which sits nicely behind the large photo), mounted the page onto an Echo Park paper which perfectly matched the Peacock and then did some black stitching around the border.

I really am super happy how this page looks but like I said, it was one of those “I’m going to test your creativity/patience” this whole process kind of layouts. It is a story I am so happy to get told and now have in our album.

And here are a couple of close up shots

Thanks, as always for stopping by and happy scrapping until next time!!

{ScrappingClearly} Goggles and Hunter

Hi there fellow ScrappingClearly fans, I’m here with you (again!!!!) today and I am super excited to share my take on this month’s super fun and bright mood board designed by the very talented Peg from the design team!

Here is a little refresher:

Ah!!! I seriously love it! I do have to admit, I was a little unsure to start with. That is until I started flipping through my printed photos and this one of my baby just jumped out at me as perfect for this board! And paired with my favourite collection, of all time, ever!! Starshine by Shimelle Laine ๐Ÿ˜€

Here is my take:

And here is my process video for this LO

I really, really, really love how this turned out!! I cut the title on my cameo and then backed each letter with some offcuts from the 6×6 paper pad. Oh, after I did some playing with gelato’s and water and some Colour Paste!

A couple of little layers behind the photo – more scraps, a piece from the ephemera pack and a clear sticker. And then, a fun, rainbow border around the left and top – again, more scraps! If you watched my last process video you would have seen me “screw up” the other side of this paper (it has all the little stars on it – one of my fave papers, ever!!), so I stuck down the 2 sides I had applied gesso too, attached to my white cardstock and saved the left overs from behind the white cardstock ๐Ÿ˜‰

Last up I added in some black splatters, my journalling, some stitching around 2 sides, a little stamping and a sharpie pen to outline each letter in the title!

You still have 2 whole weeks to enter the challenges this month so make sure you head over to the FB group here to load up your entries to go into the draw for a voucher to the store!

Also, did you see that ScrappingClearly have just launched some awesome online classes with members of the DT teaching?! There are still a few days left to sign up to the 1st class with Skai so if your interested you can find all the info here.

Thanks as always for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!

{ScrappingClearly DT} Love with Pink Paislee C’est La Vie

Hi there scrappy friends!! I’m here with you today sharing this pretty page I created using the absolutely gorgeous C’est La Vie collection by Pink Paislee that you can pick up in the ScrappingClearly store here!

Without further ado, here is my final page and if you follow this link you can see my YouTube video with my process!

I love that with the PP ranges they have paper numbers and not names! It makes it so easy!! So, I have used paper #11 for the background and paper #02 for the little layer behind the photo (the pink B side). I have also used the last piece of this beautiful vellum from the Maggie Holmes Bloom collection as a bit of a bigger layer behind my photo. I have also added a doily from my stash ๐Ÿ™‚

I have fussy cut 3 of these beautiful clusters of flowers from paper #03 and stuck them in 3 different places on the page. I used the beautiful mirror stickers for my title – simple and sweet – love. I have also used some of the bit and pieces from the ephemera pack and some of the stickers from both the washi sheets and the tiny word black and gold stickers.

The tag holds my journalling behind my photo and the tag came from the ephemera pack also.

The top cluster with some of those fussy cut flowers, a word sticker and a mirror heart. And some black stamping.

My title area and you can see the gorgeousness of those mirror stickers, swoon…..

And to the left of the photo.

And just a close up of the main embellishments and the branding strips I have cut from paper #02 and #04 to add to the bottom of the page to add a little grounding. Oh, and that adorable pink and gold meย + you tab also from the ephemera pack.

Lastly I sprinkled a little Roadbase colour spray using a small paint brush, attached staples in 3 places and did a little stamping, also in 3 places.

I so love this collection and I love this photograph of my husband and I.ย

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by the blog today, I love reading all the lovely comments and I hope you enjoyed this post and my video!

Happy scrapping!!

{ScrappingClearly DT} Hello 36

Hi there friends! Today I’m here with you today sharing this page I put together using the gorgeous Pink Paislee C’est La Vie collection and a silly SnapChat photo of myself from my birthday this year for ScrappingClearly!

Isn’t this collection just beautiful?!

I started with a stencil from my stash, some white cardstock and some Faber-Castell Whipped Spackle for some interest in the background and then grabbed my sushine colour shimmer spray by Colour Blast and also my bubblegum colour spray and sprinkled those across the page in a diagonal from top left to bottom right.

You can see here I have layered a couple of the frames from the ephemera pack behind the photo along with one of those cute tabs from the same pack which I used my machine to a little stitching through. A doily from my stash and I fussy cut some of those gorgeous flowers from this paper from the collection. Oh, and those GORGEOUS mirror acrylic pieces which I have used in 3 places also along the diagonal.

For the title I used the word hello from the mirror acrylic pieces and also the big acetate 3 and 6 from the ephemera pack. Love how this looks and that you can see the little details through the 36!

And my little cluster on the bottom right ๐Ÿ™‚ I used some of the off-cuts from pushing the frame out of the paper it was in and a little tag (the mint and gold) as layering pieces from the ephemera pack under the tab. More fussy cut flowers and the 3rd mirror acrylic piece. Some more machine stitching, again with just a white thread.

When this was all assembled I cut down 2 sides and stuck this beautiful to the top and left hand side of the page for a little more interest, colour and texture. I then machine sewed around the 2 edges and distressed the card stock a little.

I am really happy with how this page came together and can’t wait to get the chance to play some more with this beautiful collection!ย

You can see my process here on my YouTube channel! (if it doesn’t load straight away, it is still uploading as I press publish here!)

Thanks for stopping by and have a happy, scrappy day!!
