{Scrappinng Clearly} WK28 2016 ~ Project Life

Hello scrappy friends!! I’m here with you sharing another PL spread – this one however is from our 2016 album, yep, 2016 – for ScrappingClearly!!

Again, trying to get it done and in the album! I’ve used the really pretty Citrus Bliss Collection by Pink Paislee paired with a few other bits and pieces from the store and love how light and airy the whole spread has come out!

Here is the left hand side; well, technically, this is the front of the page protector. I allowed myself the freedom of doing single pages if and when needed so somewhere previous in the album was a week on single spread and I just “went with it”.

And the right hand side/back of the page protector

I’ve tried to keep it simple yet interesting and am happy with the end result! Here are a few more close ups!

There is a process video available for this if you’d like to see my page come together! Just click on the play button below and you can watch right here in your browser!!

So, that’s it for this post, I am very much looking forward to jumping into my ScrappingClearly stash to play along with both of the challenges this month and sharing here on the blog! Until then, happy scrapping and keep sharing over in the FB group, we all love to see what fun things you do with the goodies from the store!!

{ScrappingClearly} WK 29 2016

Hey there ScrappingClearly friends, Melinda here with you today sharing my latest DT project!

Today I have a PL spread to share but before I do have this photo to share with you!

Can you guess what that is?! That is all I have left of my 6×6 paper pad from the Teresa Collins Something Wonderful range! Does it excite anyone else to get this far through a paper pad?!

Anyways, onto the details of our Week 29 for 2016.

Here is the front of the spread

And the back

As you can see I have used lots of the different patterned papers for my cards – I do love to use 6×6 pads for exactly that reason BUT I find myself with a stack of 2×6  strips that I am never sure what to do with! I totally lifted this idea from another very talented PL scrapper Angus K – so a big thank you for the idea!!

You can see here I have just stuck together 2 of the 2×6 strips of paper (using the “branding” strip as the joiner) together to create my 4×6 cards and I so super love this look!! And it’s SUPER easy using a paper pad because all of the designs work together!

You will also notice, this is not the best photo, it is quiet blurry but the only photo I got of myself and my boys at the movies so I turned it black and white and the quality is good enough 😉

Here are a few more close ups!

I had enough of the full 6×6 papers left that I was able to also cut 3 4×6 cards from one paper which I think gives a nice balance.

All of those 3×4 cards, know what they are?! They are from the same collection but they are the Ephemera Tags! I have simply chopped them down to size and decorated and journalled on them the same way I would with another 3×4 card. AND using the tags this way means I have extra “ephemera” pieces which you can see in a couple of the close ups above!

I have also used some of the washi tape, enamel dots, decorative buttons, ephemera pieces, word stickers and chipboard elements from the same collection to do a little decorating (AND lots of those pieces are currently ON SALE in the shop right now!!). I added in a little stamping using these stamps from the Heidi Swapp Magnolia Jane collection and finished off with some machine stitching and thickers from my stash!

I hope you have enjoyed this post and that perhaps you now have a different way to use up those left over 6×6 pattern paper bits!!

Until next time, happy scrapping!

{ScrappingClearly DT} PL 2016 WK16

Hi there, I’m here with you today sharing one of my Project Life spreads I have put together using the gorgeous Maggie Holmes Bloom Collection!

I just love, love, love recording our every day and love the concept of Project Life but am “behind” in 2016. I use that term very loosely as I don’t think of the project as a “I must be caught up type thing”, it would be WAY too much like “work” and not FUN so here I am sharing our week 16 which is back in April!

First up I’ll share where I start ALL of my PL pages – the title card for the week

I made these hearts as I missed out on them in the store but they are super easy to put together and I actually recorded my process in a previous process video which you can see here if you are interested – you could so make these with any products, any colours, any ranges and they would look so gorgeous!!

I have used 2 of the E design page protectors – personally one of my faves – which has 4 6×6 pockets so I tend to reach for my 6×6 paper pads and this week was no exception!

I always start my pages by planning (yes, I PLAN my pages otherwise I get way too confused!!) my photo’s, printing my photo’s and then slipping said photo’s into the designated page protector/s for the week. Once that process is done I grab some papers or PL cards – and honestly, due to the nature of the day to day photos I work with, whatever supplies inspire me to create at that very moment! So when I got to the is week I was like right, Maggie Holmes Bloom is speaking to me and I have all those 6×6 pockets to work with!!

I slipped all the papers into the pocket from the 6×6 pad I wanted to use and got to creating my LO

Here is the completed left hand side

As you can see I do almost mini LO’s on each pocket! I have used some of the pieces from the ephemera pack, the very pretty glitter thickers, some of the washi strips and of course some of those GORGEOUS butterflies I had cut from the “Flutter” 12×12 paper. I also added in some labels from my stash 🙂 Oh, and I added in stamping using a fave roller date stamp.

Here is the right hand side completed

More ephemera, yummy thickers, washi and butterflies – this time cut from both the 12×12 paper and the 6×6 paper. More labels and stamping from my stash.

You will notice too that I tend to have lots to say! What can I say, I am predominately a story teller and that is what draws me so much into this awesome hobby of mine!

This week also has an insert. For that I used a 5×7 vertical page protector and this is the photograph in the front
One of my absolute all time favourite photographs of my boys!!

I used the B side of the “Flutter” paper for the back paper layer for the journalling on the back of this photo and here is a photo of the finished insert
Another of those hearts made with some off cuts of papers, some of the vellum and some of the washi strips. And machine stitching 🙂 A couple of the washi tape layers behind the heart, lots of journalling and a very simple, effective title with those beautiful thickers.

That’s it for me for today! I am always working on some part of our PL album, I just love it and I hope that one day my boys will look back and enjoy this glimpse into what life was like as they were growing up! Remember to tell your stories, big, small, good, bad or anything in between, life is life and it is yours and so worth recording!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a happy, scrappy day!!

Melinda

PS. Are you guys as excited as I am for the upcoming Cyber Crop at ScrappingClearly this weekend?! Make sure you stop by the FB group here for all the fun!

{Project Life} Week 21

Hi there my lovely followers and any newbies stopping by today I am here sharing with you a recent Project Life spread I have completed!

It has been a little while since I have done a PL share and I have a few photo’s to edit and upload but for week 21 I have actually completed my very 1st process video of my PL process so I would love it if you would stop by and take a look here.

If, for whatever reason you have not seen it or can’t here are all the detail shots and little detail about what I have used and/or done 🙂

I have used the Shimelle Laine Starshine collection for this week, I’m pretty sure it is my all time favourite collection. EVER. I have used the 6×6 paper pad, the sticker sheet, the ephemera pack, the thickers, the decorative tape, the chipboard pieces, both the roller stamp and the acrylic stamp and also the rub on pens! Oh, and at the very end, some Roadbase Colour Spray by Colour Blast Australia.

First up, the left hand side in completion

I ALWAYS work on our title card first up so here is a close up of that

A couple more close up’s of the left hand side

And onto the right hand side

And a few close ups

If you have any questions, please just ask away! I hope you enjoyed watching my process or seeing all the close ups!

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping!

PL 2016 catch up!

Hello again!

I just thought I would pop in and get a start on sharing our 2016 PL album since we are in week 24 already and I am only up to week 7 so I don’t feel like it’s too late to catch up sharing here!!

I will go chronologically and link to the weeks that I have already shared/blogged 🙂

Ok, so first up, our 2016 cover page you can see here.

On the back of that page I have enlarged a photo of the 4 of us to fill 2/3 of the page protector and along the bottom I have made 4 3×4 journal cards for a little journalling for each of us – as some of this is personal I haven’t photographed but I love how it turned out!

WEEK ONE

Since week 1 was only a 3 day week (I do like to keep all of the year in the same album/s) I only used 1 page protector in design E. Again I wanted to use up more of the Wild and Free collection by Glitz designs 🙂

WEEK TWO

I used the Shimelle True Stories collection here – both the 6×6 paper pad and the 12×12 paper pad mixed in with some stickers, some print and cut labels and some Amy Tan vellum alphas. The alphas were mounted on some white paper and fussy cut. I also decided that my pages needed some stitching and added in some using some shiny silver thread in a simple straight stitch 🙂

 Right hand side

Title card

Week Three can be found here. I did this week as a DT page for Scrappingclearly using the fun Life In Color range by Simple Stories 🙂

WEEK 4

I have used here Shimelle Laine’s newest collection Starshine. When I started putting this week together I only had the 6×6 paper pad so for the most part I have used only that 🙂 I did add in some pretty glitter foam thickers and some October Afternoon Mini Market alphas.

Left hand side

And some close ups’s of the left hand side

A piece cut from the 6×6 paper pad cut apart sheet

The flower was a gift from a friend at the last retreat I went on and it just went perfectly 😉 Thanks Angela 😀

Right hand side

A flip pocket on the right hand side. Love these things, perfect for adding in just one more photo or some extra journalling!

Another flip pocket – this is the “title” card I decided to do as there were some more personal words I wanted recorded here. I don’t mind if someone flipping through the album takes the time to read them but it’s something I feel isn’t necessary to share on the world wide web. I decided that my own more personal feelings/thoughts should be recorded somewhere that is not my diary so my boys as they get older can see the Melinda version of Mum 😀

Week 4 also has an insert which have used a G design PP for and also the Starshine collection this time paired with not only the cut apart pieces from the 6×6 paper pad but a couple of sticker sheets that were on my desk from a goodie bag recently received at a retreat 🙂

Week 5 can be found here. I used the gorgeous Cocoa Vanilla Hello Lovely range and put this week together for a fun iNSD challenge over at Scrappingclearly.

WEEK 6

I went pretty simple with this week – I’m not really sure why I did but I’m calling it done 🙂 I have used the Kiwi PL edition and decided to pull on the orange and tealy/aquay/blue colours in the kit.
 Left hand side
 Right hand side

Title card
Filler card – I saw this on my FB feed during the week and it was just too appropriate for me to not use!

So, that is where our album is currently sitting with “completed” weeks. I have an insert to do for week 6 – my big boy started year one and my little boy started Kindy Kids – 3 year old kindy so these things MUST be documented!!

I have photo’s in page protectors up until week 14 and photo’s and cards in page protectors up until week 11 so hope to get some more time to play with our album! I have discovered the more I create the more I WANT to create so yay!!

If you would like to see more of my process or have any questions please let me know in the comments or pop over to my FB page here and ask away!!

As always, thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog and extra special thanks to those that leave comments, I love getting feedback 🙂

Happy scrapping!

PL Week 3 2016

Hi hi, I’m here today sharing my next project with you using the awesome Simple Stories “Life In Color” range!

So, I have jumped ahead in our PL album/s, I really wanted to do something current so I pulled out our week 3 for 2016 and got to work.

My process always starts in a notebook deciding which photo’s to print and which stories I wish to tell. I then print my photo’s at Big W while I do my food shopping. Photo’s into pockets, cards with photos in pockets and then I get to play putting it all together!

I have lots of photo’s to share today so I grab a coffee and take 5 😉

First up, the double page spread using an K design on the left and an E design on the right.

I love this range and how it came together so easily for me!

Onto the left hand side

And some of the cards

A close up of the title card for the week. That chipboard clip is actually silver but, oh boy, silver is eve harder than gold to photograph!

I really love how this card turned out so I wanted to share a close up! I have used one of the 12×12 cut apart sheets that had the 4×4 cards pre-printed. I cut along one of the printed lines and tucked my photograph underneath. I added one of the clear coloured stickers to the printed label, did my journalling and added the date 🙂

And I just wanted for you to be able to see these cool clear coloured stickers again – love how they look on top of a photo – especially those paint brush strokes one!

And onto the right hand side 🙂

This card is actually in a flip pocket – I often use them to add an extra photo or story, so easy!

And the back side of the flip with a little embellishment and a fun collage from my oldest son’s birthday 🙂

This week also includes a 5×7 insert – it’s pretty simple but a story documented and some words written to my son 🙂

The front of the pocket – I printed the photo at 5×7 with a border and trimmed off alot of the border and then mounted it on one side of the patterned paper I wanted to use.

And the back of the pocket. I just ADORE this paper and did toss up using it behind the photo but decided I would see more of it if I used it this way 🙂 Typed up my journalling, cut it up into strips and stuck it down with some wet adhesive.

And YAY, extra space that I could do a little embellishing in! Some stickers from both the sticker sheets and the clear sticker sheets. Also a couple of strips of washi from the washi strip pack.

That’s it for me for today! I have another PL spread to share soon so until next time happy scrapping!!

Glitz "Wild and Free"

Hi hi!

I’m here today sharing a little something I have been inspired to do by Tracy Banks, aka Mercy Tiara. Use up one of those (many, many!!) older collections sitting in my stash!

I forgot to take a before photo but I decided to use this Glitz collection pack of “Wild and Free”. I had used a few bits and pieces but am hoping to use up most of what is left!

First up I made our title page for our 2016 PL album using this gorgeous paper with that beautiful dream catcher, swoon!

I’ve started work on the back of this page and also planned out week 1 using bits and pieces from this collection.

A friend of mine had one of those pieces of that dream catcher paper and she chopped off the design to just use the rest of the pattern and gave it to me! You wouldn’t believe it but I have actually fussy cut around the dream catcher and am planning a 12×12 LO using that!

So, I hope to use up this whole collection, I love it and honestly, I love using up my supplies! I will be back soon hopefully with some more completed pages using this fun collection!!

Thanks for the inspiration Tracy, just what I needed!

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!!
