{ScrappingClearly} Project Life 2018 ~ WK 2 Insert

Hello ScrappingClearly friends!! Today I am here once again sharing some more Minc inspiration!

Here is my page front

This is an insert in our 2018 Project Life album and I am super happy with how it came out. I mean, what better reason to use beautiful pink foil on all the things than when you are documenting a My Little Pony themed Birthday Party, right?!

I’ve used the 6×6 Minc Paper Pad paired with the pink foil for the bases of almost all of my cards for this spread but I also pulled a 3×4 card cut from the Teresa Collins “Alpha” 12×12 paper from the Urban Market collection.

For both the front and the back of the spread I have used quiet a range of different things including my foiled 6×6 papers (all in pink foil), some Cocoa Vanilla Studios “You RockRubber Charms, a puffy sticker from this pack by Heidi Swapp, an ephemera piece from the Pink Fresh Studio “Boys Fortephemera pack, a mini Insta frame by Heidi Swapp and most of the rest of my pack of chipboard heart stickers by Studio Calico.Β

Like I said, quiet a range, quiet a mix but I am really happy with the end result! Oh, and I almost forgot, I added in a few of the Pink Fresh Studio “Boys FortPhrase stickers. I love the little pops of black throughout the spread!

My boy had done alot of the writing on the invites himself so I had an extra (perhaps an intentional “error” πŸ˜‰ ) and wanted to include that also to see just what his almost 8 year old writing looked like.

I’m not loving that washi tape – it covers up the writing and is way too bold for what I wanted – I will find something else and fix it up πŸ˜‰

And that, my friends is another page in our 2018 album – I think the total is now like 5 or something lol – but it is another in there!!

I do have a short process video of this coming together if you’d like to see! Just click play below and enjoy!

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Distress Oxide Ink – Faded Jeans

And here are my pages, first up is the left hand side

On this side I have used the “Wowzers“, “High Five” and “You Rule” papers from Pink Fresh Studio as my cards. I’ve also used some of the Mini Alpha Stickers, ephemera pieces and also the Sticker Phrases from the same collection. A little washi and some veneer pieces from this pack by Heidi Swapp and this pack by Studio Calico. Some journalling and date stamps and the left hand side is done.

Here are a few close ups of this side

And here is the right hand side

On this side I have used 3 of the ephemera tags by Teresa Collins for the cards and cut a piece of the “Bold” patterned paper to 3×4 for my title card. I didn’t feel like I needed heaps of extra’s on this side but I have used the photo overlay on the bottom left hand photo, a couple of ephemera pieces and one of the printed veneer stickers. You can’t see but the bottom right photo is a flip pocket and on the inside I have a piece of the “Wowzers” patterned paper for my card and also one of the Studio Calico wood veneer pieces.

On my title card I have used another of the Heidi Swapp veneer pieces and covered that with 3 coats of white gesso and used a stamp from my stash with Faded Jeans Distress Oxide Ink. Some washi, mini alpha stickers and a couple of the ephemera pieces and this page is all done too!

Here are a couple of close ups including one of the flip pocket opened

It feels so good going back and getting these pages done! Slow and steady and in the album is way more important than “perfect” to me and I am happy in that place right now!

I had lots of fun mixing and matching all of these different pieces together and really like the way it all came together in the end! I hope I inspire you to get some more stories documented and until next time, happy scrapping!!

{Scrappinng Clearly} WK28 2016 ~ Project Life

Hello scrappy friends!! I’m here with you sharing another PL spread – this one however is from our 2016 album, yep, 2016 – for ScrappingClearly!!

Again, trying to get it done and in the album! I’ve used the really pretty Citrus Bliss Collection by Pink Paislee paired with a few other bits and pieces from the store and love how light and airy the whole spread has come out!

Here is the left hand side; well, technically, this is the front of the page protector. I allowed myself the freedom of doing single pages if and when needed so somewhere previous in the album was a week on single spread and I just “went with it”.

And the right hand side/back of the page protector

I’ve tried to keep it simple yet interesting and am happy with the end result! Here are a few more close ups!

There is a process video available for this if you’d like to see my page come together! Just click on the play button below and you can watch right here in your browser!!

So, that’s it for this post, I am very much looking forward to jumping into my ScrappingClearly stash to play along with both of the challenges this month and sharing here on the blog! Until then, happy scrapping and keep sharing over in the FB group, we all love to see what fun things you do with the goodies from the store!!

{ScrappingClearly} Project Life 2017 – WK8

Hey, hey my scrappy friends!! I am back again today with my latest share for ScrappingClearly!Β

Once again I am using the very fun and Spring-y collection “Spring Fling” by Pebbles. I love the fun colours and patterns on that neutral kraft base in this collection and found week 8 missing all the cards and journalling in our album so figured this would be a fun collection to complete this week in our album!

Here is the left hand side of the spread

I have used some of the neutral kraft papers as my base cards (Celebration, Party Time, Patchwork and Spring Fling) and also some of the adorable 3×4 cut apart cards from the Cut Out‘s sheet.

I don’t know how well you know your PL page protectors but for the right hand side of this week I have used a panoramic protector to include a few extra photo’s and stories. Here is a look at the whole opened right hand side of the week.

And this is the the front of the folding part of the protector

For embellishing I have kept it pretty simple using a few pieces from the ephemera pack, cutting up some of the pieces from the Me To You patterned paper and the gorgeous floral puffy stickers – which by the way – I have used the WHOLE sheet!! Yep, it’s done! Who else gets that little kick from using the last of a sticker sheet?!

For my title card and a couple of sub-titles on cards I have used these leather looking alphas by WRMK.

Due to the business and high contrast of the white against the kraft I decided that using my typewriter was the best bet for my journalling so grabbed some off cuts of some vanilla coloured cardstock, typed them up my words and trimmed into journalling strips. Easy, done and I love the flow it creates from card to card and page to page!

My motto for this year’s PL is very much “get it done” rather than “make it perfect” and I am really loving how some of these pages are coming together!

I have no idea what I’ll be creating for my next ScrappingClearly project but until then, happy scrapping!!

{ScrappingClearly} WK 29 2016

Hey there ScrappingClearly friends, Melinda here with you today sharing my latest DT project!

Today I have a PL spread to share but before I do have this photo to share with you!

Can you guess what that is?! That is all I have left of my 6×6 paper pad from the Teresa Collins Something Wonderful range! Does it excite anyone else to get this far through a paper pad?!

Anyways, onto the details of our Week 29 for 2016.

Here is the front of the spread

And the back

As you can see I have used lots of the different patterned papers for my cards – I do love to use 6×6 pads for exactly that reason BUT I find myself with a stack of 2×6 Β strips that I am never sure what to do with! I totally lifted this idea from another very talented PL scrapper Angus K – so a big thank you for the idea!!

You can see here I have just stuck together 2 of the 2×6 strips of paper (using the “branding” strip as the joiner) together to create my 4×6 cards and I so super love this look!! And it’s SUPER easy using a paper pad because all of the designs work together!

You will also notice, this is not the best photo, it is quiet blurry but the only photo I got of myself and my boys at the movies so I turned it black and white and the quality is good enough πŸ˜‰

Here are a few more close ups!

I had enough of the full 6×6 papers left that I was able to also cut 3 4×6 cards from one paper which I think gives a nice balance.

All of those 3×4 cards, know what they are?! They are from the same collection but they are the Ephemera Tags! I have simply chopped them down to size and decorated and journalled on them the same way I would with another 3×4 card. AND using the tags this way means I have extra “ephemera” pieces which you can see in a couple of the close ups above!

I have also used some of the washi tape, enamel dots, decorative buttons, ephemera pieces, word stickers and chipboard elements from the same collection to do a little decorating (AND lots of those pieces are currently ON SALE in the shop right now!!). I added in a little stamping using these stamps from the Heidi Swapp Magnolia Jane collection and finished off with some machine stitching and thickers from my stash!

I hope you have enjoyed this post and that perhaps you now have a different way to use up those left over 6×6 pattern paper bits!!

Until next time, happy scrapping!

{ScrappingClearly} Week 14 2017

Hi and hello my scrappy friends!! It is Melinda here with you today and I am sharing a PL spread I have put together using the GORGEOUS Teresa Collins Nine & Co range available in the store!!

I chose this particular week to use this range with as I had printed the title card and had edited the orange text onto the photo and the colours in this range match perfectly!!

Here are both pages together

And each page separately

And here is the title card that as soon as I took the photo I knew I was going to use it in this composition and I LOVE how it came together!

I have used my WRMK Typecast Typewriter for all of my journalling, sometimes I love the change it brings to my pages so am super keen to whip it out!!

I haven’t added a great deal of embellishment but I have used some of the cut apart cards for journalling and even cut some of the elements out of the cards for embellishing!

I really love how this card came together, I think it is maybe my favourite card of this spread!!Β

Though, I do love, love, love the story behind this photo!!

Anyways, that’s it for me for today!! I hope you find a way to document your everyday in a way that makes you happy!Β

Thank you, as always, for stopping by and have a fabulous day filled with lots of scrappy fun!!

Project Life WK 7 2017

Hi there scrappy friends! I have a super quick share with you today in the form a Project Life spread!

I am using my stash for this and have pulled cards from one of the Maggie Holmes PL kits and paired that with some left over ephemera pieces and also a couple of other bits and pieces from my stash!

There is a process video which you can see below, just click play πŸ™‚

And here are a couple of photos of the 2 pages

First up is the left hand side in a D design page protector. I think I have mentioned it before but I am more focused on getting in the album this year than over thinking it so my pages are pretty “simple” but I am happy with them and even happier that they are in the album!

And the right hand side. This is an A design page protector. And, as is pretty standard for me, lots of journalling!

And last photo, and mostly because this is one of my all time favourite ever PL cards!! That 07 tag came straight out of one of the ephemera packs (coincidence or meant to be?!) and I just added a little cream and gold bakers twine. Both of those butterflies are fussy cut – the big one from a 12×12 paper and the small from the same paper in the 6×6 paper pad.

So, thats it for me! I am working on lots of different things at the moment (nothing really unusual there – haha!) and if you would like to see what I am up to on a (hopefully) daily basis with The 100 Day Project you are best to follow me on Instagram – my user name is m_sweetman and I will post with the hashtags #the100dayproject and also #100daysoffinishingtheunfinished . I would love to see you there!

I hope you are having a fabulous scrappy day and I will see you again really soon!

{ScrappingClearly} WK 4 and Back to School

Hello lovely, scrappy friends, Melinda here with you today sharing a couple of Project Life spreads I have put together using the beautiful Teresa Collins Something Wonderful range which you can find here in store!

I have done 2 different layouts with this range and as you can see it is so versatile it can be used for everyday photos or can be boy or girl themed or even good for back to school photos in my case πŸ˜‰

Just as a side note, for 2017 I have decided to be a little more “relaxed” about HOW our PL pages are done. Better done and in the album than still waiting to happen so some of my weeks will be just single pagers and others will be a standard double and some will even have multiple inserts but for this week I have 1 12×12 pocket page and I love how it all came together AND so easily!

Here is our week 4.Β

All of the background squares are cut from the 6×6 paper pad and I have used a mix of the ephemera, alpha and label stickers, decorative stickers,Β chipboard stickers and enamel dots as accents.

The middle row, right hand side is actually a flip pocket and here is the photo underneath and the journalling on the back of the flip.

And lastly, for this page, our title card. I tend to always start a PL spread with the title card, it gives me an idea of colours, textures and patterns I would like to include for the whole spread.

So, that is our week 4, done and dusted and in our album!! #woohoo

The next double page (which is actually a front and back of a page protector) spans 2 weeks as one of my boys went back to school week 5 and the other week 6 but to keep it simple I have just done back to back.

The front of said insert πŸ™‚ My big boy off to his first day of year 2!

And some close up’s of the detail

Some ephemera pieces, a chipboard piece, a sticker and some enamel shapes.

Some more stickers and enamel dots

Almost every time, without fail, if I get these 2 in the frame together I get silly. I have come to accept this and embrace it for what it is. Sure enough, in years to come I will be lucky to get a look at their faces through the camera. But this photoΒ overlay, also from the same collection was just PERFECT!! Love deeply, Laugh out loud, Live passionately and that sums up these 2 in so few words.

And here is the back

And my baby, off to Kindy. There may have been tears. And not from him! I think his grin says it all but he was so excited! All papers again are from the 6×6 paper pad except that 3×4 card with the map and “the story” which came from the cut apart 12×12 paper.

And a few close ups

A piece of washi, some chipboard, some ephemera pieces (that heart was cut from a bigger card in the pack) and again, enamel dots.

I mimicked the design from the front, so some stickers and enamel dots.

And again, a sticker, a chipboard piece and a piece from the ephemera pack.

I didn’t take a close up of it but the bottom photo on the right hand side has another overlay on it. A heart with “so happy” – all because he WANTED to hold his Mummy’s hand all the way to school – what a sook I am!! Hahaha!!

So, as you can see, this collection is super versatile and so fun to work with!

I hope that you are inspired to capture some of your own memories, in whichever form works for you!

Happy scrapping, until next time!

{ScrappingClearly} Week One 2017 – February Mood Board Inspiration

Hi there scrappy friends! I’m here with you today sharing my take on the gorgeous ScrappingClearly February 2017 mood board, once again designed my very talented fellow DT member Peg Hewitt!

Here is the board again if you have not seen it!

All about the lovey stuff, awwww! I did avoid the purple – no surprises there but I loved the softness of the pink and the yellow. The picture in the top left reminded me of Summer and I just love that beautiful burst of sunlight in the heart!

I was sent the gorgeous Cocoa Vanilla Studios range called Free Spirit and I immediately thought it was a great match! I got to cutting up the papers and putting our first week of 2017 together for our Project Life album!

Here is the completed double page spread

Sorry about the glare, it is a bit tricky for me to photograph both sides together. But here they are separately

Left side

Right side
And if you wish to see this come together just click on the play button below to watch my YT process video!

I decided to use the WRMK pink embroidery floss also included in my kit to create some extra interest on 3 of the cards

This is our title card for the week

I loved how the word Summer looked in the font I chose to embroider with

And this photo is an absolute fave of mine! Love this memory – seeing the sheer joy and pleasure on my boy’s face just made my day! Oh, and in case it needs clarifying, Mia is the horses name πŸ˜‰

Also, on those 3 cards I brought in a little extra something using some Studio Calico gold sequins and some Ranger Flamingo Liquid Pearls (which I had never used before!) in a little cluster.

I have used my WRMK typewriter for all of the journalling and learnt that when using it, 1 layer of cardstock is just enough. If you put through 2 layers, it’s a little trickier πŸ˜‰

Thanks so much for stopping by today and make sure you get your take in for the gorgeous mood board challenge for this month over here in the FB group!

Happy scrapping!

2015 Documented – Scrapping Clearly

Hi there! Today I’m sharing another lay out I made using the awesome Simple Stories “Life in Color” range.Β

I have had so much fun with all these gorgeous goodies and had a lot of fun putting together our closing page for our 2015 PL album!

I will add here that I am still playing catch up on this album, hehehe, but was so inspired when I got my package I just HAD to dive in!!

There were alot of cut apart pieces in the Collection KitΒ that I knew as soon as I saw them I wanted to cut apart and use as they were so I pulled out my 3 faves and went ahead and started decorating!

I have used one of the cut apart cards here along with the alpha’s from the sticker sheet in the same kit and some of the other stickers from both the clear sticker pack and the regular sticker pack (both of which have got so many delish goodies I had a hard time trying to decide on the pieces to use!!). I also added some stitching in silver – there are pops of silver throughout this whole collection and let me just say, I am so NOT over gold but silver sure has found a place in my scrappy heart!!

Again, a cut apart sheet paired with stickers and also this card has some chipboard stickers on it as well πŸ™‚

Oh, and you probably noticed, I added some white and silver glitter enamel shapes from my stash!

When I saw this part of one of the cut apart border sheets I may have had to wipe away the drool. I don’t know what it is about it but I just ADORE it and KNEW that I would have a hard time not using it as it is! So, I needed to fill the middle pockets of my page and voila – perfect size and the sentiment couldn’t have been better!! This time just one sticker and those enamel shapes.

And just a close up of the 2 left hand pockets of the 4 πŸ™‚

I do try to add in photo’s of all 4 of us at both the beginning of the year’s album’s and the end. Normally it’s either all 4 of us or 1 of each of us but I found some fave’s from late last year, had them printed and added a couple of stickers to each and called it done!

I am super happy with how this turned out and cannot wait to get playing with some more of these goodies!

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping

Mel
