{ScrappingClearly} This Made Me Laugh ~ Scrapbook Layout

Hi there, today I’m here with my take on the very fun May 2017 mood board for ScrappingClearly. This was also designed by the very talented Peg and after much deliberation I came up with a fun page that I am really happy with!

First up, the mood board

And here is the page I created

This is a photo of hubby from our honeymoon (back in 2008) and one of the King Prawns we enjoyed at one of the places we ate out at. I chose this photo because I really wanted to challenge myself to somehow incorporate that fish!! Easy enough to run with the colours but man that fish stumped me for a while! My mind started wandering and wandered right along to this exact photo and the story I wanted to tell that goes along with it. My husband DOES NOT eat prawns!! Haha! But this night I think between the 2 of us we ate 2 or possibly 3 of these King Prawns and we both loved them!

Here you can see all that messy fun in the background!! I love how it came together and I used the awesomely cool and fun Scribble Sticks by Dina Wakely in Ruby, Tangerine, Lemon and Night. These things, if nothing else, are super fun to work with. I watched another scrappers tutorial process video which gave me a couple of ideas but I did play a bit too to get the feel of how best they work! And indeed, dipping the scribble stick into some water and scribbling onto the page was the best way to get a vibrant colour!
Oh, and I did apply a quick coat of white gesso to help the colours move.

I’ve also used some of the fun watercolour stickers by Vicki Boutin, the arrows and the word Laugh. Love how they came out, however, a heads up, don’t add LOTS of water, the paper will pill up!! Lesson learned πŸ˜‰

I have used the gorgeous Teresa Collins Nine & Co range for all my embellishing and all the paper layers. Oh, and that cute camera paper clip by American Crafts.

There is a process video for this page, just click below and enjoy!

That’s it for me for today, so have fun and remember you still have a little over a week to get your entries in for both the sketch and the mood board challenges!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Melinda

Piece By Piece ~ K+ May 2017 Challenge

Hi there my scrappy friends!! I am sharing with you today my take on the very fun and somewhat challenging Kraft+ May 2017 Challenge. This month is all about the non-square/rectangle photo! This was definitely a challenge for me as I have NEVER scrapped anything other than square or rectangle!!

As always the K+ DT totally inspired me with all of their interpretations of the challenge and got my little brain ticking over!

I came up with the idea of circles for my photos and a line down the page. As you have probably noticed I have been doing a few wedding pages so when I saw the page I am re-doing I thought this challenge would be a perfect way of making a more “me” version of it!! Here is the original….

And here is my do-over page. Again with the pink. Specifically, Blush in the Colour Shimmer Pots by Colour Blast, I mean, swoon, totally!!

So, I had a heap of fun putting this together and am super happy with the end result. It is most surely more me!!

There is a process video which you can see simply by clicking play below!

Thanks once again K+ for a fun challenge and LOTS of inspiration!!

Until next time, happy scrapping!!

{Stash} Hello Baby Ethan ~ A Scrapbook Page

Hey there my scrappy friends!! I have a quick layout share for you today of this page I made to document me meeting one of my scrappy friends little people for the first time!

I made this page about a month or so ago but am sad to say that it has taken me that long to a) getting around to doing a voice over and b) getting around to actually documenting this memory – this little guy is 1 at the end of this month! Oops!

I have once again used more Colour Blast products to create those adorable clouds on the page. I have kept the whole page pretty airy and I love it!

The process video is below, all you need to do is click play and enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed and until next time, happy scrapping!

Cheeky Little Devil ~ Scrapbook Page

Hi there scrappy friends!! I’m here with you today sharing my take on the fun sketch challenge over at Anna’s Craft Cupboard.

Here is the sketch if you have not yet seen it
And here is my take on the sketch

I have finally cracked open my Pink Fresh Studios Indigo Hills collection and it is just gorgeous!! I have paired it with one of my new favourite colours from Colour Blast – Just Blue. If you love blue and don’t have this colour – you NEED it – all of it! The Shimmer Spray, the Embossing Powder, the Colour Paste and the Colour Shimmer Pot – swoon!!!

Anyways, enough of my swooning and here are a few details of the page!

This photo shows a close up of the title area. I’ve mixed and matched some chippy pieces from Dusty Attic and used both the Just Blue and Dusty Charcoal embossing powders on all the words – doesn’t it look A-MAZING the way the colours mix and blend together?!

With all that work in the background I decided not to go to OTT with embellishments so kept it pretty simple with a few pieces from the ephemera pack and also a Charms Creations grey arrow.Β

So, another story told, another page in an album and I satisfied my need to get messy πŸ˜‰

Thanks so much for stopping by, until next time, happy scrapping!!

{ScrappingClearly} The Best Things ~ April Mood Board Challenge

Hi scrappy friends, Melinda here with you today sharing my take on the fun April sketch challenge, once again designed by the very talented Peg!

Here it is if you haven’t seen it yet

And here is my take on it

And you can watch my process on the link below – just press the play button!

I have used the Kaiser Craft Ooh La La collection pack for this and mostly just the Oui Oiu floral paper (I fussy cut the florals from it) and the Belle paper.

I have a little of the packaging technique in the background with the Avocado Art Anthology spray and applied a few splatters in Navy Colour Shimmer Dust.

The finishing touches were a few of my left over triangles from my last project – as photo corners and also as corners on the top left and bottom right of the page.

So, make sure you get your entries in for this months challenges, you still have most of the month to get them done! Head over here to the FB group to upload your entries. We love to see the way you guys interpret the challenges!!

Thanks, as always for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!

Best Jeans Ever ~ Kraft+ March ~ Denim Revolution

Hi there scrappy friends!! It’s been a very productive month for me, not just in my scrap room but getting all the things done so I feel like I’m winning!! Haha!

Speaking of winning, this is the 2nd month in a row I have managed to get in an entry for the K+ monthly challenge and this month there is still 9 days to go so that is a win in my books πŸ˜‰Β

Enough chatter and onto the challenge! It’s an awesome one this month – Denim Revolution! I had actually decided back in January (or perhaps it was December) when K+ did their “Inspiration from your wardrobe” challenge to use denim, specifically the jeans I have used this month so as soon as I saw this month I KNEW what I wanted to scrap about!

Here is the challenge for March

And here is my take on the challenge!!

I love, love, love how this page came together and with the jeans pocket taking up so much room my page came together really quickly!

Here is the process video if you would like to see it all happen!

And here are some close ups!

I have, of course, used some Colour Blast products in the background – the White Heavy Gesso and also the Bubblegum and Saffron Colour Sprays. Oh, and don’t forget that Steel Colour Paste πŸ˜‰

Thanks so much for stopping by, I am so happy to have the story of my favourtie jeans told and in our album! Future generations may think geez, this lady was strange but that’s ok. Totally!

Have a great scrappy day and see you soon!

{Colour Blast} Shine

Hi and hello I’m here with you today sharing a 12×12 layout I made for Colour Blast Australia!

You can see my process here on the YT channel and you can read on for a full step-by-step.

Ok, so first up I started with a white piece of cardstock, some gyprock tape (the fun things we find in the husbands workshop πŸ˜‰ ) and some White Heavy Gesso. I totally forgot to take a photo but I quickly stuck down some of the tape in 2 places – where the photo was going (top left third of the page) and the bottom right hand corner. You can see the tape in a couple of close ups below. Once that was stuck down I applied a quick coat of gesso with a paintbrush.

Next up I added colour. Again I have used the beautiful Colour Shimmer Dust this time in Navy. I added a little water, mixed them up and applied some water to the page and then used a big brush to apply the colour to over the top of the gessoed tape. And then I used the same brush for some sprinkles of the colour.

And the bottom right hand corner

I put that aside to dry and then got to work on my chipboard.

I have used 2 pieces which I have cut up to go behind my photo. I decided to go with the Just Blue Colour Embossing Powder so I used my ink dabber to apply embossing ink, then sprinkled on the embossing powder and heat set on all the chippy.

I can’t believe this is the 1st time I have used this beautiful colour but oh, I just love, love, love it and so glad I added it to my stash!

Next up I did some stamping with some black Archival ink. I have used a stitching stamp and some word stamps and I just stamped all over the place, some vertically and some horizontally.

And my final addition to the background was some ink splatters using both the Roadbase Colour Spray and the Bling Colour Shimmer Spray.

I left that to air dry and then got to putting my page together. I have used mostly a wet adhesive due to the mixed media in the background and I just love how this page came out in the end!

And some close ups

I just love this little title area with that colour, chipboard and punchinella!

And more of that beautifully embossed chipboard, swoon!!

And, lastly, those fun splatters in the Navy, Roadbase and Bling.

Thank you, as always, for stopping by and taking the time out of you day to check out my project!

Until next time, happy scrapping!!

{ScrappingClearly DT} Love with Pink Paislee C’est La Vie

Hi there scrappy friends!! I’m here with you today sharing this pretty page I created using the absolutely gorgeous C’est La Vie collection by Pink Paislee that you can pick up in the ScrappingClearly store here!

Without further ado, here is my final page and if you follow this link you can see my YouTube video with my process!

I love that with the PP ranges they have paper numbers and not names! It makes it so easy!! So, I have used paper #11 for the background and paper #02 for the little layer behind the photo (the pink B side). I have also used the last piece of this beautiful vellum from the Maggie Holmes Bloom collection as a bit of a bigger layer behind my photo. I have also added a doily from my stash πŸ™‚

I have fussy cut 3 of these beautiful clusters of flowers from paper #03 and stuck them in 3 different places on the page. I used the beautiful mirror stickers for my title – simple and sweet – love. I have also used some of the bit and pieces from the ephemera pack and some of the stickers from both the washi sheets and the tiny word black and gold stickers.

The tag holds my journalling behind my photo and the tag came from the ephemera pack also.

The top cluster with some of those fussy cut flowers, a word sticker and a mirror heart. And some black stamping.

My title area and you can see the gorgeousness of those mirror stickers, swoon…..

And to the left of the photo.

And just a close up of the main embellishments and the branding strips I have cut from paper #02 and #04 to add to the bottom of the page to add a little grounding. Oh, and that adorable pink and gold meΒ + you tab also from the ephemera pack.

Lastly I sprinkled a little Roadbase colour spray using a small paint brush, attached staples in 3 places and did a little stamping, also in 3 places.

I so love this collection and I love this photograph of my husband and I.Β

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by the blog today, I love reading all the lovely comments and I hope you enjoyed this post and my video!

Happy scrapping!!

Beautiful

Hi there!

I’m just popping in quickly to share a 12×12 layout I made over the last weekend, well, just because! I have this gorgeous Cocoa Vanilla range sitting in my stash (Life Is Beautiful) and I just wanted to play!

Here is the finished project – pretty clean for me but I am super happy with how it came out πŸ™‚

I have used papers, stickers and the ephemera pack all from the Cocoa Vanilla range and paired it with some gold glitter thickers from my stash.

Unlike most of my pages there is no journalling on this page but I know that there will be other pages to go along with this event in my album so will get around to telling all of the relevant stories on other pages πŸ™‚

Here are a few close ups

I had to add some ink splatters to finish it off – I pulled out my Heidi Swapp colour shine in gold (of course!!) and navy πŸ™‚

That’s it for me for today, and honestly probably for the next few days at the very least as after I finish work tomorrow the family and I off for a little camping trip! I hope you get to enjoy some of your own scrappy time, especially if you are here in Australia and enjoying the long weekend πŸ™‚

Happy scrapping!

If You Think My Hands Are Full….

Hi there!!

Yes, it is quiet possible you have thought you have come to the wrong blog with all of these 12×12 layout’s I’ve been sharing lately but if your here, welcome and I hope you are enjoying seeing something different from me!! I will add here that I have taken a bunch of photo’s of our 2015 PL album and plan to share those sometime this week (I hope!!).

But that’s enough chatter!! I’m here today to share another 12×12 layout! This time the whole design was inspired but the gorgeous cut file in the background which I purchased from The Cut Shoppe (gorgeous, gorgeous designs!!) and am entering into their challenge for the month of August!

I have used a photo from Mother’s Day 2015 paired with the cut file, some pretty blue glitter cardstock, a full piece of 12×12 from the Shimelle collection paper pad, some black and white scraps from my scrap box and some Shimelle stickers and rub-ons!

After I cut the cut file I knew I wanted something bright and bold behind it so I started flipping through papers and found this one!! I picked the cut file and the background before I picked the photo by the way πŸ˜‰

Before I adhered the cut file I cut some of the blue glitter cardstock to back the hearts, attached those with a liquid adhesive and then attached the whole piece to the background paper. I LOVE how this turned out!!

There wasn’t a great place for the journalling so I used the white border all the way around for it!

As you can see I have layered up a bunch of scraps behind the photo, cutting and tearing some (thanks Missy Whidden!!) and popping the photo up on pop dots.

I have used some alpha’s that I picked up from Big W (the typewriter type font) and some thickers from my stash. The “fabulous” heart is from the “Lovely” PL edition and this card is actually dry embossed and I just cut fussy cut the heart from the card. The mini tile alphas are from the Shimelle sticker sheet, the “absolutely”, the camera and the gold hearts from the rub-ons and the wonderful and wander stickers from the same pack of stickers the alphas are in.

I finished off with a little bit of stamping with a roller stamp and black archival ink.

So, I hope you have enjoyed and happy scrapping!!

Mel
