{Stash} Shimelle ~ Clear The Desk ~ Kit One ~ Pages Flip Through & Left Overs

Hey and hello scrappy friends!! A super quick share today of some pages I created at a recent retreat.

I took Shimelle Laine’s newest class “Clear The Desk” and took the kits with me on said retreat. I worked my way through 2 1/2 of the kits I created with stash items and today I am sharing Kit One and what I made.

You can see my YT video walk through here

And here are the 4 pages and kit created using Shimelle’s class

This was the kit I put together based on that bokeh effect paper. There is a quick flip through at the end of the video of what I have left as well πŸ˜‰ Which I will add to my “left over” kit bits for playing with at the end of “using up” all the kits!

Love & Adore

My Little Cat

Our Island Adventure

Best Wishes

So, that is the 4 pages I created so far with the kit. I have more pages made from the next kit/s I just need to work out what I’ve done etc and I can share!!

If you want to see more from Shimelle head to www.shimelle.com and you can also find her on YT.Β

I hope enjoy and I shall see you again very soon!Β

Have a fantastic, scrappy day!

{Colour Blast} Amazing Things ~ A Scrapbook Layout

Hello, hello, hello and happy Saturday to you!

Today I am sharing my take on this months Colour Blast challenge, rainbows!! Here is a sneaky peek!

And here is the actual challenge!

I also have a process video that you can watch right from your browser, just click on the play button!

And off we go with the step by steps!!

I started with Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock, grey archival ink, a stamp, Snow White Colour Paste and a 12×12 stencil. The stars of course πŸ˜‰

Stamping first! The stamp actually reads “Tired of trying to cram her sparkly star shaped self into into society’s beige square holes, she chose to embrace her ridiculous awesomeness and shine like the freaking supernova she was meant to be.” I did lots of messy stamping in the background and let dry.

Next I grabbed my stencil, Colour Paste and a little washi to make sure I only got what I wanted! I actually did 2 applications to make the stars a little more random at the top and bottom of the pattern so after the first application was dry I re-positioned the stencil and applied more paste.

I have done this technique similarly before but last time I used hearts and my watercolours. This time I pulled out my Colour Shimmer Cubes/Pots in all the colours of the rainbow. Let me adjust that, the colours I own in the rainbow. Add in Colour Spray in Indigo and Violet and I have the whole rainbow!! You could, of course, do this very same thing with either just the Colour Sprays or the Colour Shimmer Sprays depending on the intensity of colour and sparkle you are after.

I activated all of my colours which are from L to R:
Punch, Tangereen Dream, Sunshine, Envy and Singin The Blues.
Then activated my Snow White Colour Shimmer Pot.
I sprayed both the Indigo and Violet Colour Shimmer Sprays straight onto my work surface and mixed in some of the Snow White to give those flat colours some shimmer, swoon!!!

I grabbed a paint brush and some water and off I went. I did start in the middle with Envy and then did the warm colours letting them spread and mix a tiny bit then let that dry and finished off with the cool colours.Β

The colour and shimmer here is absolutely GORGEOUS!

I, of course, had to add splatters! I used the same brush and the same colours and off I went! So pretty and so me!!

I popped that aside to dry naturally and pulled all my layers and photo together and came up with my title.

Time to stick it all down! I did pull out my entire Glitter Girl collection (hello rainbows!) and tried to find all the colours in the collection and add them to their matching colour in the background.

My title is a real push for me to even use however, I am struggling a little personally and a little self love goes a very long way so I ran with it! And my journalling reflects exactly what I’ve just written!

I added a tiny touch of detail to the top right and bottom left of the page using scraps that I had experimented with colours on before I started this page and a tiny strip of washi on each.

I love how this page came together – I do love a good old rainbow – and I feel like it was just the therapy I needed right now πŸ˜‰

Some of you with a super keen eye would have noticed that the step-by-steps photo’s of that rainbow coming together are different to what is on the scrapbook page – you are not going crazy! I forgot to get some step-by-steps (creativity took over!) so I re-did the paste and the rainbow and used my “demo” to make a card!!Β

Make sure you play along with our challenge this month – just load up your entries over in the Colour Blast Creative Corner FB group, you could win a store voucher!!

Until next time, happy scrapping and take care of YOU!!

{Stash} Baby-o-saurus ~ A Scrapbook Page

Hi there my scrappy friends!!

Today I am here with a stash share!! Yay, I really, really love diving into my stash and using some of the things I may or may not have been hoarding for years πŸ˜‰

My share today is using one of my all time fave collecitons – Baby-saurus by Little Yellow Bicycle. This range is quiet an old one, I believe it’s dated 2011 and I have used it to create my biggest boys 1st year album and am using the very last skerrics of what I have left which is not much!

Here is the page I created, again inspired by the amazing Shimelle Laine!

I have pulled out a couple of sticker sheets, some thickers and a couple of chippy stickers sheets and added what I loved without adding too much. That background is quiet busy with all of those circle but I just LOVE how this page turned out!

There is a process video available, just click play below πŸ˜‰

Here are a few close ups!

I hope you enjoyed my share today, I really do love re-discovering my stash and I really love scrapping some of these older photo, I mean look at that adorable chubby face!!
Until next time, happy scrapping!

{ScrappingClearly} Goggles and Hunter

Hi there fellow ScrappingClearly fans, I’m here with you (again!!!!) today and I am super excited to share my take on this month’s super fun and bright mood board designed by the very talented Peg from the design team!

Here is a little refresher:

Ah!!! I seriously love it! I do have to admit, I was a little unsure to start with. That is until I started flipping through my printed photos and this one of my baby just jumped out at me as perfect for this board! And paired with my favourite collection, of all time, ever!! Starshine by Shimelle Laine πŸ˜€

Here is my take:

And here is my process video for this LO

I really, really, really love how this turned out!! I cut the title on my cameo and then backed each letter with some offcuts from the 6×6 paper pad. Oh, after I did some playing with gelato’s and water and some Colour Paste!

A couple of little layers behind the photo – more scraps, a piece from the ephemera pack and a clear sticker. And then, a fun, rainbow border around the left and top – again, more scraps! If you watched my last process video you would have seen me “screw up” the other side of this paper (it has all the little stars on it – one of my fave papers, ever!!), so I stuck down the 2 sides I had applied gesso too, attached to my white cardstock and saved the left overs from behind the white cardstock πŸ˜‰

Last up I added in some black splatters, my journalling, some stitching around 2 sides, a little stamping and a sharpie pen to outline each letter in the title!

You still have 2 whole weeks to enter the challenges this month so make sure you head over to the FB group here to load up your entries to go into the draw for a voucher to the store!

Also, did you see that ScrappingClearly have just launched some awesome online classes with members of the DT teaching?! There are still a few days left to sign up to the 1st class with Skai so if your interested you can find all the info here.

Thanks as always for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!

The Great Easter Bunny Trap 2015 ~ A Page for Shimelle.com

Hello there and welcome to this somewhat overdue post!!

As the title may suggest I have FINALLY gotten around to sharing my full layout that was featured on the Shimelle.com website way back in March!!

I can’t remember exactly what my theme was but from memory I think it was a black and white photo and Easter πŸ˜ƒ

I narrowed my photo selection down to this one of my boys from Easter 2015.Β

Each year since 2012 hubby and the boys have set a “trap” to catch the Easter Bunny and funnily enough, we haven’t managed to catch him yet! The boys love the challenge and my biggest this year actually set the trap with a little guidance from the husband – photos yet to scrap πŸ˜‰

Here is my page

I have used a bunch of supplies from the Shimelle collections I had in my stash along with this awesome background sheet I got from Typo. Love the colours and the fun pattern!!

And a couple of close up’s!

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this layout, it reminds me that I need to get some more done!!Β

Which brings me around to this little side note – I was about to draft yet another blog post for a DT page and found a couple of drafts sitting in my blog! Today is Christmas Eve here in Australia and I am sharing an Easter page. Haha! Anyways, to all of my lovely followers and likers I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the very best for the year ahead!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping!

{Project Life} Week 21

Hi there my lovely followers and any newbies stopping by today I am here sharing with you a recent Project Life spread I have completed!

It has been a little while since I have done a PL share and I have a few photo’s to edit and upload but for week 21 I have actually completed my very 1st process video of my PL process so I would love it if you would stop by and take a look here.

If, for whatever reason you have not seen it or can’t here are all the detail shots and little detail about what I have used and/or done πŸ™‚

I have used the Shimelle Laine Starshine collection for this week, I’m pretty sure it is my all time favourite collection. EVER. I have used the 6×6 paper pad, the sticker sheet, the ephemera pack, the thickers, the decorative tape, the chipboard pieces, both the roller stamp and the acrylic stamp and also the rub on pens! Oh, and at the very end, some Roadbase Colour Spray by Colour Blast Australia.

First up, the left hand side in completionΒ

I ALWAYS work on our title card first up so here is a close up of that

A couple more close up’s of the left hand side

And onto the right hand side

And a few close ups

If you have any questions, please just ask away! I hope you enjoyed watching my process or seeing all the close ups!

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping!

Whatever

Hi there and welcome to my blog today! I’m sharing another page using my absolute fave collection so far this year, Starshine by Shimelle πŸ™‚

Another page from my besties and niece’s birthday party back in January πŸ™‚ And both my niece and myself LOVE this very candid moment that someone happened to snap!

I started this page while on retreat at the beginning of the month and am so happy with how it came together!. Because I started at retreat I can’t 100% remember HOW I created the water colour background but I am about 98% sure it was using gelatos! I have a bunch of the older gelatos that don’t have the names printed on them but I used Β a red and yellow that I got in one pack and I have also used Blueberry for the blue. As you can see I have used a piece of plastic packaging and the very easy packaging technique with the blue and yellow – letting the colour dry between as I didn’t want green! After that was dry I went in with the red and a pipette to create big splatters and also a paint brush for some smaller in all 3 colours πŸ™‚ After that was all dry I went in with a star texture stamp and black archival ink from my stash and then some of the Bling Colour Paste by Colour Blast and a stencil.

A bit of a close up of the detail in the middle of the page. I had to ask around at retreat but I managed to find a piece of vellum (I can’t believe I didn’t pack any!!) Β as I had an idea!! I grabbed my Singin the Blues and my Bling colour paste by Colour Blast and a fun stencil and just stenciled the pattern onto the vellum for the last layer behind the photo cluster and as it turns out – somewhere for the title to go! I used these fun phrase thickers in an older Dear Lizzy collection but this worked perfectly for my title! Both of my stencils are from Dusty Attic and you can find them here in store or if there is one in particular you are after Kylie can order them in!

I have used the “Voyager” (red with flowers) paper and also a paper from the 12×12 paper pad to back the photo. I did outline both of those with a black pen to give a little more definition to the layers as well.Β

Once that was all assembled I went in with my embellishments but didn’t want to add too much as the background had so much happening!

This cluster is to the left of the photo and you can see that I have used 2 clear stickers from the collection, some of those GORGEOUS acrylic stars (it was hard sticking those down, I’m kind of hoarding them!) from the acrylic shapes, one of the flairs (these guys are little and oh so cute!) and also some black and yellow thread from my stash for more added texture.

This little cluster is at the top of the photo and again, clear stickers (hard to see but yellow star near the top right), another acrylic star and one of those cute paper clips. Oh, and more black thread πŸ™‚

And onto the very bottom cluster πŸ™‚ I have cut the “Together” from this piece of paper, added some thread, another of those adorable flair, another yellow clear star sticker and a 3rd acrylic star.

I used one of my border punches from my stash on 2 of the sides in a really messy way and then distressed them a little. I felt the page was lacking a little something so mounted it onto that star paper from the 12×12 pad (I used this same paper as one of the mats on my photo but cut out the middle as I had a feeling I would use this to mount the whole page) and then machine stitched all around the edge in a messy fashion!

That’s it for me for today. I truly do love this collection and I am so pleased I got this story told.Β

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!!

PL 2016 catch up!

Hello again!

I just thought I would pop in and get a start on sharing our 2016 PL album since we are in week 24 already and I am only up to week 7 so I don’t feel like it’s too late to catch up sharing here!!

I will go chronologically and link to the weeks that I have already shared/blogged πŸ™‚

Ok, so first up, our 2016 cover page you can see here.

On the back of that page I have enlarged a photo of the 4 of us to fill 2/3 of the page protector and along the bottom I have made 4 3×4 journal cards for a little journalling for each of us – as some of this is personal I haven’t photographed but I love how it turned out!

WEEK ONE

Since week 1 was only a 3 day week (I do like to keep all of the year in the same album/s) I only used 1 page protector in design E. Again I wanted to use up more of the Wild and Free collection by Glitz designs πŸ™‚

WEEK TWO

I used the Shimelle True Stories collection here – both the 6×6 paper pad and the 12×12 paper pad mixed in with some stickers, some print and cut labels and some Amy Tan vellum alphas. The alphas were mounted on some white paper and fussy cut. I also decided that my pages needed some stitching and added in some using some shiny silver thread in a simple straight stitch πŸ™‚

Β Left hand side

Β Right hand side

Title card

Week Three can be found here. I did this week as a DT page for Scrappingclearly using the fun Life In Color range by Simple Stories πŸ™‚

WEEK 4

I have used here Shimelle Laine’s newest collection Starshine. When I started putting this week together I only had the 6×6 paper pad so for the most part I have used only that πŸ™‚ I did add in some pretty glitter foam thickers and some October Afternoon Mini Market alphas.

Left hand side

And some close ups’s of the left hand side

Β A piece cut from the 6×6 paper pad cut apart sheet

The flower was a gift from a friend at the last retreat I went on and it just went perfectly πŸ˜‰ Thanks Angela πŸ˜€

Right hand side

A flip pocket on the right hand side. Love these things, perfect for adding in just one more photo or some extra journalling!

Another flip pocket – this is the “title” card I decided to do as there were some more personal words I wanted recorded here. I don’t mind if someone flipping through the album takes the time to read them but it’s something I feel isn’t necessary to share on the world wide web. I decided that my own more personal feelings/thoughts should be recorded somewhere that is not my diary so my boys as they get older can see the Melinda version of Mum πŸ˜€

Week 4 also has an insert which have used a G design PP for and also the Starshine collection this time paired with not only the cut apart pieces from the 6×6 paper pad but a couple of sticker sheets that were on my desk from a goodie bag recently received at a retreat πŸ™‚

Week 5 can be found here. I used the gorgeous Cocoa Vanilla Hello Lovely range and put this week together for a fun iNSD challenge over at Scrappingclearly.

WEEK 6

I went pretty simple with this week – I’m not really sure why I did but I’m calling it done πŸ™‚ I have used the Kiwi PL edition and decided to pull on the orange and tealy/aquay/blue colours in the kit.
Β Left hand side
Β Right hand side

Title card
Filler card – I saw this on my FB feed during the week and it was just too appropriate for me to not use!

So, that is where our album is currently sitting with “completed” weeks. I have an insert to do for week 6 – my big boy started year one and my little boy started Kindy Kids – 3 year old kindy so these things MUST be documented!!

I have photo’s in page protectors up until week 14 and photo’s and cards in page protectors up until week 11 so hope to get some more time to play with our album! I have discovered the more I create the more I WANT to create so yay!!Β

If you would like to see more of my process or have any questions please let me know in the comments or pop over to my FB page here and ask away!!

As always, thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog and extra special thanks to those that leave comments, I love getting feedback πŸ™‚

Happy scrapping!

Some fun challenges at Shimelle.com

Hi there

A super quick post to share today with 4 12×12 pages I have created this weekend to play along with the online crop/challenges Shimelle held last weekend on her website!

There was so much inspiration and I so wanted to get all of the challenges done, but, well, life happens and I got 5 done in the 4 pages. There is still 19 hours to link up so perhaps more but time will tell!!

My 1st page is for the “Use the 1st Shimelle collection” and also for the “scrap an older photo” challenge. This photo was taken back in 2012 πŸ™‚

The next is for the “Colour blocking” challenge.

I wasn’t really sure what I was doing here but used Shimelle’s LO as inspiration and as a loose sketch. This has way less embellies than I usually use but I am really happy how it turned out – and another memory scrapped!

3rd, this is my fave <3, for the "choose a weekly challenge" challenge. I chose "scrap a selfie" and came up with this page. I love how this page turned out. I love the open "white" space. And personally, I just think it's a pretty page!!

My 4th share is for the “Use 3 photo’s on 1 page” challenge for this week – not a part of the weekend challenges!

Again, my big boy – this time his 6th birthday – which was January 2016 and some rather hilarious faces my sister managed to catch on her phone as I totally forgot to take mine!!

So, that’s it for me for now πŸ™‚ I had so much fun playing along, I’m certain that by now those of you that follow me will notice I really enjoy playing along with challenges!!

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!

I made stuff!!

Hi hi!

Just thought I’d quickly show you what I managed to create while away at retreat last weekend. Not my most productive weekend but also not my least productive so I’m happy!!

First up here is a 12×12 and PL style page for Jacobs 2015 album. I used the Simple Stories “We Are Family” range that was in the retreat kit challenge. I love this range!

And the facing page in his album also from the same range, same kit πŸ™‚

Next is our week 38 using the Simple Stories “Daily Grind” range.

And our week 39 using the Shimelle “Lovely” PL kit paired with the Shimelle “True Stories” stickers and the Shimelle rub ons.Β

Oh, I only just noticed that one of those hearts have moved O.o

And then our week 40 using Simple Stories “Summer Vibe” 6×6 paper pad.Β

I actually purchased some of the bits from this range for this paper, I just love it and decided rather than hoard it I would use it!

I did get another project completed but that is the frame I created for my little coloured fairy which is currently making her way to her new home so I will share after she has arrived but here is a sneaky peek!

And lastly, I got about 3/4 of the way through completing a DT project for Dusty Attic and again, I can’t share it yet but here is a sneaky peek!!

So, thank you so much for stopping by and happy scrapping!!

Hopefully I will be back today with days 1 and 2 of our DD for 2015 using the gorgeous kit from The Stamp Spot πŸ™‚
