{ScrappingClearly} Dream ~ Scrapbook Layout

Hi there my scrappy friends and welcome to the ScrappingClearly blog this lovely Monday! Melinda here with you today sharing a page I created using (once again!) the very awesome Starshine collection by Shimelle! I just can’t help myself, I love it!!

Here is my page

I was VERY inspired by this page shared on You Tube by Lillith Eeckels and had a bunch of stars I had created that I wanted to use up and went with this design! Isn’t it fun!

I started by stitching that black circle onto my background after drawing (about in the middle) a circle using an empty paint pallet of the page as a template. I went around about 6-7 times and I LOVE the texture it gives!!

I created my stars by first cutting a half or 3/4 of a full 12×12 piece of white card on my cameo. Next a quick coat of gesso, some stamping with black permanent ink and then COLOUR! I have used some Colour Shimmer Dusts by Colour Blast – these little pots are AMAZING to play with. I have used Candy and I think Cobalt but it may have been Peacock…..

When I stuck them down I just used a little dot of wet adhesive in the middle of each star and love the dimension I have achieved!

I used a couple of layers of papers (namely the Gemini and Hubble) behind my photo and then I have used the Chipboard, Flair, Thickers, Paper Clips and Rub-On pens to embellish. Oh and the background paper is Juno!

I have used one of the clear stickers for the title (I stuck that to some white smooth cardstock and fussy cut) and also a few acetate pieces from the ephemera pack!

Lastly the journalling, the date and some splatters, again using the Colour Shimmer Dusts and a paint brush! Oh, and a hint of the Midnight Colour Shimmer Dust to balance out the black of the stitching, the stamping and also my journalling!

If you would like to see my whole process the YouTube process video is linked below! Make sure to subscribe to the channel so you can keep up with all of the new shares over there!

As always, thank you so much for stopping by and I will see you next time! Happy scrapping!

{ScrappingClearly} Goggles and Hunter

Hi there fellow ScrappingClearly fans, I’m here with you (again!!!!) today and I am super excited to share my take on this month’s super fun and bright mood board designed by the very talented Peg from the design team!

Here is a little refresher:

Ah!!! I seriously love it! I do have to admit, I was a little unsure to start with. That is until I started flipping through my printed photos and this one of my baby just jumped out at me as perfect for this board! And paired with my favourite collection, of all time, ever!! Starshine by Shimelle Laine 😀

Here is my take:

And here is my process video for this LO

I really, really, really love how this turned out!! I cut the title on my cameo and then backed each letter with some offcuts from the 6×6 paper pad. Oh, after I did some playing with gelato’s and water and some Colour Paste!

A couple of little layers behind the photo – more scraps, a piece from the ephemera pack and a clear sticker. And then, a fun, rainbow border around the left and top – again, more scraps! If you watched my last process video you would have seen me “screw up” the other side of this paper (it has all the little stars on it – one of my fave papers, ever!!), so I stuck down the 2 sides I had applied gesso too, attached to my white cardstock and saved the left overs from behind the white cardstock 😉

Last up I added in some black splatters, my journalling, some stitching around 2 sides, a little stamping and a sharpie pen to outline each letter in the title!

You still have 2 whole weeks to enter the challenges this month so make sure you head over to the FB group here to load up your entries to go into the draw for a voucher to the store!

Also, did you see that ScrappingClearly have just launched some awesome online classes with members of the DT teaching?! There are still a few days left to sign up to the 1st class with Skai so if your interested you can find all the info here.

Thanks as always for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!

{ScrappingClearly DT} Top Nine

Hello there fellow ScrappingClearly fans, I’m here with you today sharing another page I have made using my most favourite collection of all time. EVER. The Starshine collection designed by Shimelle.

This layout started as a little idea that popped into my head one night while I was trying to sleep (does that happen to anyone else?!) and involved the stitching and a BIG title. My idea kinda evolved and changed during the making but I am super happy with how it all came together in the end!!

If you would like to watch my process you can find my process video here and read on for more details and close ups!

You can see the stitching I have done on the background (I used this paper and mounted on this paper) using a needle and thread and I have actually not stitched behind where the photo is. I used this tutorial to get my cameo to do all the hard work of making the holes for me and it made the process a) quicker and b) the holes were that tiny bit bigger and easier to sew through!

After the stitching was done I went in with some similar colours of Colour Blast sprays (bubblegum, sunset, saffron and lagoon) and did droplets all across the area where I knew I wanted most of the embellishments.

The photograph I decided to scrap was one that Instagram shared with me early this year and it is my Top 9 photos of 2015. I have included a little pull out card from this cut apart sheet behind the photo with matching number stickers from the accent and phrase stickers from the collection and a little blurb about each photo.

I have used the awesomely cool thickers in this collection for the title, I love all the different colours in it and I love that font, it’s so fun!

That floral paper is one of my most fave from the collection and I HAD to fussy cut some of the flowers to use as embellishments and love how it looks!

I have secretly been hoarding those gorgeous acrylic shapes but figured it was time to get them on a page so I have used the butterfly, the word shine and both hearts.

At the very end I did a few little sprinkles using the Colour Blast Colour Spray in Roadbase (flat black colour).

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave a comment and I will get back to you ASAP!!

Thanks again so much for taking the time to stop by and happy scrapping!

{Project Life} Week 21

Hi there my lovely followers and any newbies stopping by today I am here sharing with you a recent Project Life spread I have completed!

It has been a little while since I have done a PL share and I have a few photo’s to edit and upload but for week 21 I have actually completed my very 1st process video of my PL process so I would love it if you would stop by and take a look here.

If, for whatever reason you have not seen it or can’t here are all the detail shots and little detail about what I have used and/or done 🙂

I have used the Shimelle Laine Starshine collection for this week, I’m pretty sure it is my all time favourite collection. EVER. I have used the 6×6 paper pad, the sticker sheet, the ephemera pack, the thickers, the decorative tape, the chipboard pieces, both the roller stamp and the acrylic stamp and also the rub on pens! Oh, and at the very end, some Roadbase Colour Spray by Colour Blast Australia.

First up, the left hand side in completion

I ALWAYS work on our title card first up so here is a close up of that

A couple more close up’s of the left hand side

And onto the right hand side

And a few close ups

If you have any questions, please just ask away! I hope you enjoyed watching my process or seeing all the close ups!

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping!

Whatever

Hi there and welcome to my blog today! I’m sharing another page using my absolute fave collection so far this year, Starshine by Shimelle 🙂

Another page from my besties and niece’s birthday party back in January 🙂 And both my niece and myself LOVE this very candid moment that someone happened to snap!

I started this page while on retreat at the beginning of the month and am so happy with how it came together!. Because I started at retreat I can’t 100% remember HOW I created the water colour background but I am about 98% sure it was using gelatos! I have a bunch of the older gelatos that don’t have the names printed on them but I used  a red and yellow that I got in one pack and I have also used Blueberry for the blue. As you can see I have used a piece of plastic packaging and the very easy packaging technique with the blue and yellow – letting the colour dry between as I didn’t want green! After that was dry I went in with the red and a pipette to create big splatters and also a paint brush for some smaller in all 3 colours 🙂 After that was all dry I went in with a star texture stamp and black archival ink from my stash and then some of the Bling Colour Paste by Colour Blast and a stencil.

A bit of a close up of the detail in the middle of the page. I had to ask around at retreat but I managed to find a piece of vellum (I can’t believe I didn’t pack any!!)  as I had an idea!! I grabbed my Singin the Blues and my Bling colour paste by Colour Blast and a fun stencil and just stenciled the pattern onto the vellum for the last layer behind the photo cluster and as it turns out – somewhere for the title to go! I used these fun phrase thickers in an older Dear Lizzy collection but this worked perfectly for my title! Both of my stencils are from Dusty Attic and you can find them here in store or if there is one in particular you are after Kylie can order them in!

I have used the “Voyager” (red with flowers) paper and also a paper from the 12×12 paper pad to back the photo. I did outline both of those with a black pen to give a little more definition to the layers as well.

Once that was all assembled I went in with my embellishments but didn’t want to add too much as the background had so much happening!

This cluster is to the left of the photo and you can see that I have used 2 clear stickers from the collection, some of those GORGEOUS acrylic stars (it was hard sticking those down, I’m kind of hoarding them!) from the acrylic shapes, one of the flairs (these guys are little and oh so cute!) and also some black and yellow thread from my stash for more added texture.

This little cluster is at the top of the photo and again, clear stickers (hard to see but yellow star near the top right), another acrylic star and one of those cute paper clips. Oh, and more black thread 🙂

And onto the very bottom cluster 🙂 I have cut the “Together” from this piece of paper, added some thread, another of those adorable flair, another yellow clear star sticker and a 3rd acrylic star.

I used one of my border punches from my stash on 2 of the sides in a really messy way and then distressed them a little. I felt the page was lacking a little something so mounted it onto that star paper from the 12×12 pad (I used this same paper as one of the mats on my photo but cut out the middle as I had a feeling I would use this to mount the whole page) and then machine stitched all around the edge in a messy fashion!

That’s it for me for today. I truly do love this collection and I am so pleased I got this story told.

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!!

PL 2016 catch up!

Hello again!

I just thought I would pop in and get a start on sharing our 2016 PL album since we are in week 24 already and I am only up to week 7 so I don’t feel like it’s too late to catch up sharing here!!

I will go chronologically and link to the weeks that I have already shared/blogged 🙂

Ok, so first up, our 2016 cover page you can see here.

On the back of that page I have enlarged a photo of the 4 of us to fill 2/3 of the page protector and along the bottom I have made 4 3×4 journal cards for a little journalling for each of us – as some of this is personal I haven’t photographed but I love how it turned out!

WEEK ONE

Since week 1 was only a 3 day week (I do like to keep all of the year in the same album/s) I only used 1 page protector in design E. Again I wanted to use up more of the Wild and Free collection by Glitz designs 🙂

WEEK TWO

I used the Shimelle True Stories collection here – both the 6×6 paper pad and the 12×12 paper pad mixed in with some stickers, some print and cut labels and some Amy Tan vellum alphas. The alphas were mounted on some white paper and fussy cut. I also decided that my pages needed some stitching and added in some using some shiny silver thread in a simple straight stitch 🙂

 Left hand side

 Right hand side

Title card

Week Three can be found here. I did this week as a DT page for Scrappingclearly using the fun Life In Color range by Simple Stories 🙂

WEEK 4

I have used here Shimelle Laine’s newest collection Starshine. When I started putting this week together I only had the 6×6 paper pad so for the most part I have used only that 🙂 I did add in some pretty glitter foam thickers and some October Afternoon Mini Market alphas.

Left hand side

And some close ups’s of the left hand side

A piece cut from the 6×6 paper pad cut apart sheet

The flower was a gift from a friend at the last retreat I went on and it just went perfectly 😉 Thanks Angela 😀

Right hand side

A flip pocket on the right hand side. Love these things, perfect for adding in just one more photo or some extra journalling!

Another flip pocket – this is the “title” card I decided to do as there were some more personal words I wanted recorded here. I don’t mind if someone flipping through the album takes the time to read them but it’s something I feel isn’t necessary to share on the world wide web. I decided that my own more personal feelings/thoughts should be recorded somewhere that is not my diary so my boys as they get older can see the Melinda version of Mum 😀

Week 4 also has an insert which have used a G design PP for and also the Starshine collection this time paired with not only the cut apart pieces from the 6×6 paper pad but a couple of sticker sheets that were on my desk from a goodie bag recently received at a retreat 🙂

Week 5 can be found here. I used the gorgeous Cocoa Vanilla Hello Lovely range and put this week together for a fun iNSD challenge over at Scrappingclearly.

WEEK 6

I went pretty simple with this week – I’m not really sure why I did but I’m calling it done 🙂 I have used the Kiwi PL edition and decided to pull on the orange and tealy/aquay/blue colours in the kit.
 Left hand side
 Right hand side

Title card
Filler card – I saw this on my FB feed during the week and it was just too appropriate for me to not use!

So, that is where our album is currently sitting with “completed” weeks. I have an insert to do for week 6 – my big boy started year one and my little boy started Kindy Kids – 3 year old kindy so these things MUST be documented!!

I have photo’s in page protectors up until week 14 and photo’s and cards in page protectors up until week 11 so hope to get some more time to play with our album! I have discovered the more I create the more I WANT to create so yay!!

If you would like to see more of my process or have any questions please let me know in the comments or pop over to my FB page here and ask away!!

As always, thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog and extra special thanks to those that leave comments, I love getting feedback 🙂

Happy scrapping!

Party Like a Superhero

Hi, hi and welcome to my blog today!! I am super excited to share this page!!

I was sent the stunning Starshine collection by Shimelle – it has finally landed in Australia but be quick to pick yourself up some of the bits before they are all sold out!! I have been awaiting this collection since it was first released at CHA earlier this year and it was so worth waiting for, Shimelle, you have totally nailed it again!!

Ok, enough with my fan-girl, love the collection talk and onto the page I created!

This page actually started as an experiment! I was on a local scrappy retreat and had taken along some white card stock and my fun new Bling Colour Blast paste. I picked up a 12×12 stencil while at retreat and figured what better time to have a play!!

The Colour Blast paste went on beautifully and dried super quick! As the colour dried it became more beautiful than what you see in the pot and honestly, if you want a gold texture paste, give it a go!! It’s really difficult to see in the photo’s but I also mixed some of that texture paste with water to make it quiet fluid to add some gold splatters along the diagonal from the top left to the bottom right.

I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do with the page while I was still on retreat so I brought it home and went through my stash of photo’s keeping in mind that I was desperate to cut into the Starshine collection. I pulled out these photo’s of myself and my niece and myself with my bestie (and also my niece’s Mum) at their joint birthday party from January – they went perfectly with the collection!

I used some blue acrylic paint mixed with water and some plastic packaging to create that water coloured background and LOVE how it turned out!

Here is a close up of the photo cluster

My page warped HEAPS so I decided to mount it on that red “Juno” paper since I had used the blue paint in the background.

I cut apart some of the boxes from the “Galileo” paper and layered those in a fun, messy way behind my photo’s, chopping bits from all of the rectangles so I could use them in multiple places behind the photo’s. The camera’s are also fussy cut from one of the papers – “Pathfinder” and that little tab is from the “Orion” paper. I also pulled some red thread from my stash to bring a bit more red into the page.

You can also see here in the top left corner some of the splatters using the bling texture paste mixed with water.

The title is mostly made up of letters from my stash – the classic blue and red (glittery of course!!) superhero colours with a little bit of black. The blue letters are actually these ones by Heidi Swapp 🙂

A close up of some of the detail of the stencil and blue water colour.

You can also very faintly see the lighter gold flecks from the water/texture paste combination.

And one last photo at a different angle!

I love, love, love how this page turned out. And though it was hard to cut into those much anticipated papers by Shimelle I am so pleased I got to play with this collection and my new gold texture paste! I can’t wait to pull it out and play some more!!

Thanks for stopping by!
