STB October 2019 | Super Awesome

Hey my scrappy friends and welcome to my blog today!! My share today is for the Scrap The Boys October challenge.

I just love sketches so was excited when I saw that this was the challenge for this month! Here is my take

You can see I have stuck very closely to the sketch but yet still made it a definite “Melinda page”

I jumped into my Cocoa Vanilla Studio “boy” stash, specifically to start with my “Boys Rule” collection which I just LOVE!!

I’ve used papers Happy Go Lucky, Good Times and Straight & Narrow for my 3 biggest background pieces and just love that pop of lime green in the middle!

This was all looking way too clean for me so I grabbed a couple of stamps and some black Versafine ink and stamped in a couple of pieces on my background layers. I’ve also added some splatters using green, blue and a grey.

I’ve used a couple more paper layers, one scrap from a 12×12 and some from the 6×8 paper pad. I added in a few ephemera pieces for layers as well.

My title pieces came from the CVS You Rock collection and so too did the film strip tucked into my layers.

I added in my journalling to one of the cut aparts from the 6×8 paper pad, right where the middle photo is on the sketch. And finally, some enamel shapes sprinkled around. So excited, I FINISHED a package of something lol

Unfortunately, due to some stupid tech issues I have no video for this page but I still hope you enjoyed!! Touch wood, all my tech issues seem to be sorted now so more videos coming soon!!

Make sure you head over here for the other girls’ takes on this fun sketch and to enter your own page for this months challenge. Remember, I may have followed the sketch very closely but if it inspires you in another way just go for it and enjoy the process!!!

Until the next time, happy scrapping!

CUT to YOU | Happy Together | A Scrapbook Layout

Hello my scrappy friends!! As the month of love rapidly comes to a close I have another lovey-full-of-hearts page to share with you!

This is another page for CUT to YOU and I have used the beautiful “Love Me Some Hearts” cut file which is available here on the website and here on the Etsy store.

I have filled most of my white card stock background with and sent to cut.

I picked this gorgeous ombre blue patterned paper from CVS for my background so knew I didn’t want to cover too much of it up or distract too much from it so I kept it pretty simple and just misted and painted the whole file in gold.

I have used the 3 biggest hearts for the photo’s I wanted to use to tell my story. I have cut those to shape and stuck behind my cut file.

As I knew I really wanted that cut file and photos to pop the rest of the page is really fairly simple but I just love the end result! I chose a few random hearts to back using some gold printed newspaper print vellum (which I may be hoarding every single scrap of!!) from my stash to add a bit more gold and subtle pattern.

I used some CVS Love Always wood veneer for my embellishment and part of my title and some of the same collection ephemera to finish off my title and add some butterflies.

A few sparkly black enamel dots from the same CVS collection. 3 triangles of 3 around my photos and embellishments.

I added my journalling using a white pen and my final touch was some white splatters using Dylusions White Linen Ink Spray.

And that is it for me for today!
I do have a process video for you which you can watch just by clicking the play button below

Make sure you head over to the CUT to YOU shop to check out all of the beautiful February releases and make sure you head back really soon for the soon to come March releases – oh la la <3<3<3

I hope you have enjoyed and I will be back again with another layout share very soon! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy scrapping

Awesome ~ A Scrapbook Page

Hey, hey my scrappy friends!! I’m so excited to be here sharing with you again another K+ challenge! This one is as part of the team of guest designers for the sponsors!! Colour Blast is once again the sponsor so when I was given the opportunity to create with another of the K+ challenges I snapped it up!

The November challenge is “think BIG”!!

Here is my creation and as you can see I have gone with a BIG title!

The title was cut on my silhouette cameo and the cut file was just from the Silhouette store. I went a little crazy with the Colour Shimmer Cubes in Singin’ The Blues and Stormy Weather. I also paired that with Colour Shimmer Dust in Navy and I love the water colour-y finish I got on my white cut file!

I decided to go with a contrasting colour on my kraft cardstock and decided on yellow (Sunflower Colour Shimmer Dust) and orange (Tangerine Dream Colour Shimmer Cube) and the packaging technique and I love how the cut file pops off the page!

I’ve used more Aussie goodies with all my paper layers and few embellishments going with the “You Rock” collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio’s.

I have a process video showing how this whole page came together if you’d like to see, just click on the play button below and enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope I have inspired you to perhaps play along this month with the great challenge over at Kraft Plus.
